Catholic Church Help

My fiance is Catholic and wants to get married in a Catholic church, however he is not currently a member of any churches. Does anyone know of one in the Dayton/Cincinnati area that will marry a couple who are not currently  members of that or any other Catholic churches?

    You're going to have to join a Catholic church in order to go through counseling and everything. It's easier if you just do it at the church you'll marry at. Call and ask if you can marry there if you register immediately. You do have to give churches at least 6 months notice. It may be more depending on the church.

    This... and even if you want to marry in a different church the church you are members at would need to sign off. So either way you need to belong somewhere.

    Some churches, like mine, allow you to marry even if you're not a registered parishoner, as long as you live within the parish boundaries. You would just have to call to see if that's what a Catholic CHurch near you does. I go to Good Shepherd in Montgomery.

    Or some churches let you get married there even if you're not a member and you don't live within parish boundaries.  I'm getting married at Immaculata in Mt. Adams where neither my fiance nor I is a parishoner, and we both live very far outside parish boundaries. In fact, I live in Atlanta and my fiance lives in Providence, RI!  Expect to pay more if you're not a parishoner, though.  If you're still looking for options, I've heard that St. Xavier Church downtown has a pretty flexible policy.  Don't know from personal experience, though.  Good luck!!!

    Check St. Francis de Sales in Walnut Hills...they have been AWESOME working with us. Our home church was not big enough so we needed another church. I am not Catholic and my fiance is. They are letting us get married there still as long as we have our own pastor. Check them out :)

    Some of the large catholic churches are almost like venues where they'll allow you to be married there as long as one of you is Catholic and will pay their fee.
    My fiance and I are getting married at the Covington Cathedral and both of us are living in Philadelphia right now. ( He's from cincy) And in order to get married there we had to pay the "out of town" fee and provide two seperate addresses.

    I'm getting married at St. Xavier downtown... they are pretty flexible as long as one of you is Catholic. Give them a call. I've had a really good experience with them so far. It doesn't hurt that the church is gorrrgeous :)
