RSVP postcards

For those who did RSVP postcards, what was your rate of USPS loss?  I really want to do postcards to reduce invitation envelope bulk and be a tiny bit more cost effective.  However, some of my save-the-dates were lost in the mail (athough they haven't made their way back to my parents' house), so I'm worried about an even smaller piece of mail getting stuck between junk mail and disappear....

Thanks in advance!

Re: RSVP postcards

  • We did post cards.  I checked with USPS.com to get the specs for sending them.  As far as I know, none of them were lost in the mail.
  • I'm doing postcards as well.  I didn't even think about the higher risk of them getting lost!  I guess that is why it is suggested to call every one you haven't received a RSVP for.  Helps to get an accurate count.

  • We are doing RSVP's. It should be fine. My bridal shower thank-yous are smaller than our RSVP's and they have made their way to the correct people. Don't let all of the horror stories of the post office scare you away. Yes, they do screw up a lot, but what other way are you going to go about it, FedEx them to everyone and cost a fortune?
  • Thank you.  I feel better.  (Getting ready to order my invitations!)
