Bars/Hotel Capital/State Street area for Bachlorette Party

Hi everyone! The girls and I picked out a date and decided a specific location of focus for my bachelorette party festivities. I'm looking for suggestions on a place to stay near the Capital/State Street area that you've stayed at so we can travel on foot.

Second question is great places to drink/dance and have a great time. We're doing my party in early June next year. I've heard Madison's is a great place to go.

Any suggestions/help is greatly appreciated! I recently moved to the Madison area and haven't gotten a chance to go out downtown/Capital at all yet.

  • I know it's easy to get excited, but you shouldn't be planning your own party.

Let whomever is hosting the party for you do the planning and if she needs help, suggest she look up State Street on Trip Advisor, where there's a ton of reviews of Hotels, Restaurants and things to do.
    www.visitdowntownmadison.com is another option.
  • Best Western Inn on the park is what I think the hotel on the square is called. Reasonably priced for downtown, otherwise the Hilton is luxe and The Ruby Marie is victorian.

I LOVE State street. June will thankfully have more locals and fewer college students so you should have a nice time!

Resturaunts I reccomend: Madison's Downtown, Muramoto, Tutto's on State, Franchesca's, plus all of the awesome ethnic resturaunts

Partying will really depend on the crowd and who has music that night. Take a walk down state and see who's having a good time. Also see if the Great Dane has a party that night. Best of luck!

I'm not planning it, merely giving suggestions to my girls since they asked me what/where I want to go and do. I'm the only one who lives in Wisconsin and near Madison so I was just looking for some locals to offer suggestions.

Thanks turtleslove for the suggestions - I will pass them along! Yes, State Street will have a different environment with the college kids gone and more locals around.
