Cat Owners and Lovers, I have a question

Is catnip okay for cats? I've never had a cat before, but I was going to get my friend's cat a catnip toy for x-mas. I was unsure if it was safe or not. TIA!

Heh, when my old roommate and I had a cat, we gave her catnip. She ended up running into a cabinet door during her mad running around. Apart from it making them act like they're high, it's perfectly safe!

OMG my cats loooove it. They don't really care for toys with catnip in them, but for some reason when we put some dried 'nip on the kitchen floor, they go bonkers. They munch on it furiously until it's all gone then chase each other around the house. Haha. It's actually really entertaining.

Just be prepared for what you cat's gonna do. I was so excited when I first bought catnip for my two because I've seen videos and heard storeis about crazy cats that act like they're high on catnip. Neither one of my cats react to it at all. It totally bummed me out. Be prepared for them to get nuts... or for them to just sniff it and walk away. But either way it's totally safe.
