Not so "tasty" food!

Everywhere i've looked for a reception hall said the same thing: "we csn schedule a tasting two weeks before your reception date".  I kept thinking "this is cray".  Needles to say, we reserved a reception hall (the location, price, availibility and sie is good).  So we had a tasting (after we put a deposit down, of course) and the food is not as flavorful as we would like it to be...  Should we suggest to the caterers that they can add more seasoning to our reception meal, or is that tacky.  Or should we start looking again for someplace to have our reception

Before scrapping the venue entirely, I'd definitely approach them and say that you're not wild about the food and address your concerns.  Best case scenario, they fix the problems and you keep the venue. Worst case scenario, they are uncooperative and you switch venues like you would have anyway.

I wouldn't stick with a place that has bland food. Food is one of the only things guests will remember.

I agree with NOLA.  I would ask them about it.  Have you found anyone else that has used this venue?  Maybe post on your local board and see if anyone has experience with that venue or can recommend another one, in the event you decide to keep looking.

We ate in our venue's restaurant before we booked (it was an inn, and the chef was the same for the restaurant as for our event).  We did look at some venues that didn't do tastings until after you booked, but that just seemed so weird for us, since food was one of our most important criteria.
