Tipping

Hi Ladies! With my day a few days away Im wondering about tipping. Our planner has added tax but it doesnt look like gratuity. Included in our package is hair/makeup/mani/pedi all by different people and the musician, limo driver, etc.. Do I tip these people or.......? And if so how much? They arent broken down by price so I dont know how much each service is costing, I just have a list of everything I get and the total cost. Help! :) Thanks all!

I am in the same boat. I plan on tipping the hair stylist and makeup person based on what I would expect to spend at home. But I don't intend to tip the Wedding coordinator.

Hopefully someone else will have some more insight :)

Ditto breaness - I think a tip for stylists is expected (just like when you go to a regular salon).  Limo driver as well.  A website I found helpful about tipping was this:

It spells out some flat rate tips, as well as percentages.  The tipping range is a bit towards the low end of other websites I've seen, but should suffice.  Just remember that tipping is optional and a reflection of their standard of service...don't give one, if you don't think it's well deserved!

If you want to work out percentage tips, I'm sure you can ask your coordinator for a breakdown of prices of items in your package.  You can even ask her for advice on what to tip vendors.

    Thank you ladies!

That website was a great help! Looks like I better hit up the bank and grab some envelopes :)

The rule I went with for my wedding was 1) tip people who don't own their own business ie the servers who worked for the catering company or the nail person who did your nails but didn't own the shop and 2) quality of their service.  If they vendor owned their own business, they essentially get the whole amount you paid them.  as for how much to tip, anywhere between 15-20%, depending on the service level.
