Poison Ivy!!!

Well ladies, my worst nightmare has come true...

I am super allergic to poison ivy and get it about once a year...and last night it showed up all over my legs! I haven't even been outside, but I am so sensitive to it that my FI goes disc golfing in the woods and if it is on him I will usually get it.

It normally takes about 2 weeks to go away...I have 13 days before I leave for Vegas :(

I just got back from the doc and got steroids and cream to help accelerate the process...just hoping the steroids doesn't make me gain a few pounds right before!

Jeez! So frustrating! And I got a big fat pimple on my face...I NEVER GET PIMPLES! I seriously have super clear skin...wtf!?!?!

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent...send your healing powers my way!

    O no!!! thats no good at all! hopefully the stuff the doc gives you will help. is there any type of like medicated bath you could take to help smooth things over??? i have my fingers crossed for you!!

    Take an aveeno bath, with the oatmeal soap, every night before you leave. Then rub calamine lotion all over you!!!!!! Yikes! Hope it clears up for you! I, too, have a huge pimple. I hate them!!!! Feel better, knottie vibes your way!!

    This! Or you can blend oatmeal really fine and just dump it in the bath tub and soak in it.  I get eczema really band and do this from time to time.

    Go to the store and get stuff called technu Extreme - medicated poision ivy scrub. It stops the itching & keeps it from spreading. FI had to use it when he & other detectives had to tear down an acre of illegal pot plants...

    PS - Tell your FI no more disc golf until after the wedding.

    Oh no I am so sorry. That super sucks.  I really hope the steroid and cream clear you up prior to the wedding - start making your FI strip down in the laundry room and wash the clothes immediately and then shower so you won't come in contact with it. 

    My FI hunts in a swampy area and does that - mainly because the clothes are nasty not because of any allergy.
