Having a friend officiate your wedding

Hey knotties!!

Has anyone had a friend officiate their wedding? The FI and I were hoping to do this for our beach wedding but weren't positive on how to go about it. Any suggestions would be great!! Thanks

    we are also thinking of going this way. the sweetest most personal weddings i have been to are ones where a friend or someone who knows the couple officiates. i think you can just get certified online  - seems ther are bunch of online places you can do it - for a small fee and are good to go! i think the hardest part will be finding someone that knows us well that is also not afraid of public speaking! that's my bigget thing, i def want to pick someone who is comfy in front of people.

    There are numerous sites online where they can get the officiant' license, it is pretty easy!  We are doing it as well, and we are doing a beach ceremony too!  Our best friend is marrying us :)

    I love this idea and since I got engaged and started thinking about getting married I knew that I wanted a friend to perform the service. Neither of us are very religious so having someone we are close to perform the service and share that day with us is the second best decision we've made...after deciding to get married! Good Luck! :)
