Need Table Number Ideas/Flower Question

i'm about 1.5 months away and feel like i'm scattered all over the place with this wedding planning!  I've been fairly hands off with this process but am struggling a bit with all the little details that need to be finalized.

I have no clue what my colors are for the wedding so i'm trying to just keep everything neutral and let the flowers be the main splash of color (although I don't even know what those will look like).

Anyone have any unique ideas for table numbers/holders?  I don't really know what i'm looking for...every diy thing I've chosen are sort of a mish mosh of things I like :P

I'd like the numbers/holders to be something that can fit well with whatever the flowers turn out to look like and to be a little more subtle/discreet so it doesn't overpower the centerpieces.

For flowers, i'm working with the Merriman's restaurant coordinator and i'm not really sure what the process is supposed to be.  She's basically booked all my vendors for me and i've sent photos of things that I like with regards to flowers and colors.

How are you gals are working with your florist?  Have you been able to get sample photos from them of what the finished arrangements will look like or something to that effect?  We are using Dellables for the flowers, but I've never been in contact with her so i'm just wondering how closely she'd be able to replicate the flowers/colors I was looking have.

NO WORRIES!  We finalized flowers and table numbers less than 14 days before the wedding.  You have plenty of time!

For table numbers, I bought white frames and used color paper inside for the pop of color.  IMHO, this worked really nicely against gray linens.  We kept everything on the table gray or white, using yellow for the dinner napkins and then large pops of color in the flowers:

As for the florist, it should generally work something like this:
    - You describe (to Merrimann's or to Dellables directly, ask your WC) what you sort of envision
    - They email you photos of work they have done that might match
    - You send more feedback and iterate on it

Most florists will do 1 flower trial at no cost -- I am not sure if that is included in your package.  We had a flower trial & I HATED what she did so I overrode her suggestions and came up with my own.  I never actually saw it until the day of the wedding so I'm pretty glad it turned out!

Total double post, but you got me thinking back to our planning process!  I dug up some of the photos I collected for pops of color and loved:

We ended up doing all cymbidium orchids only because I'm just a little obsessive about clean lines and those were the only flowers used except in my bouquet.

oh wow i love your flowers!  thanks so much for the great suggestions and photos!  I know for the reception, I want bright and vibrant colors to represent the tropical locations but I think my arrangements will be a little vertically challenged compared to yours, so I'm having a hard time figuring out how to incorporate table numbers without blocking the flowers too much.  I guess I should try reaching out to the florist to see what she's done in the past.  I was thinking of maybe having a small stake with the number sticking out of the arrangement but since i'm not really sure what the arrangement would look like, I wanted to get some other options to mull over!

We are doing individual flower arrangements...fuchsia and white...our colours our fuchsia and turquoise blue...with various types of flowers and various heights...right now i think we have 6 arrangements per table but will need to add more as our tables are quite large...unfortunately we will not be saving much money doing individual arrangements as each one requires as a vase but i really like the look...not so uniform...but that's my vision. Our table names will be the three islands that we will be honeymooning on...i had wooden stand alone signs made buy an Etsy seller. I was in contact with my florist prior to hiring my WC...in fact my florist recommended my WC...but i have changed my mind so often. I send them both pics of what i would like my flowers to look like. IMHO i think you should speak to your florist one on one so she understands what you want or would like your floral arrangements to look like. HTH! J. :-)

Fantastic suggestions from the posts above...  I would add that if you haven't already, collect pictures of florals and decor that you do like (I kept mine electronic and saved on my computer in different file folders).  Then, start looking for "themes" or patterns in what you like or gravitate towards.

Narrow it down to what's important to you and what defines your style.  Once you have 'refined' inspiration, maybe run your ideas through your FI to finetune it to BOTH of your personalities!  When it comes to making the final decisions, take into practical considerations, such as cost, availability, seasonality (of florals), etc.

I agree with maui2011 that Etsy is a great place to look for details, such as table numbers.  HTH!  :)

That could totally work!  See here...

(although I think this number is too big)

Also love this where the number is part of the vase -- either printed on or just with a piece of paper:

We aren't doing flowers but a ton of candles and shells, but as far as color goes we have decided to stick with the white table linens that Gannon's offers and add our colors, pink and tangerine here and there.  I think it is a great idea to keep your flowers your main focus. You could also add the table numbers to the vases? We are using different sized round vases with ribbon and shells glued on but you could easily put the numbers below the flower line.

I like the stake idea also and as long as you have an idea you may just make the stakes and let the florist know what you are thinking of.

Thanks so much for all the wonderful ideas!  Now i'm on overload...too many things I like! LOL.  I think what i'll do is put together a bunch of photos of arrangements and colors I like for flowers and maybe Della can take those as inspiration to come up wiht something her own but still incorporating the things I like from the pictures!

For our table numbers we uses photos of our fingers the numbers and put them in clear frames.  This was our center pieces - mason jars with rocks, gerby daisy and floating candle on a mirror.  Place settings were leaves attached to an apple with a jewel pin!  Hope that helps!
