Shrug/Wrap

Is anyone getting a shrug or wrap for their reception. I have been thinking about it lately... I get really cold all the time. Our wedding is outside and I have a strapless dress. I know I am going to get cold once the sun goes down and will want to put something on. If you are getting one; where did you find yours? or do you have suggestions? I can't find anything I love that is under $60 bucks :)

Hmm I haven't thought about it much because I don't want to cover the detail on my dress, but if I got something I'd probably get a pashmina like wrap thing maybe like THIS.
  • I don't think I will need one because my dress is a ballgown and with the slip and all I don't see myself getting cold. Plus, our reception venue is part outside and the doors leading to the patio/deck will be open so I don't see the inside room being too cold.

  • Since our wedding is in the middle of the summer in a barn, I am thinking I will pass on that. If I get cold I will just walk outside. hahah.

  • I agree with Meg on the pashmina.  I haven't thought about it though really beyond I probably won't.

  • I won't be doing one. It doesn't start cooling down here at night sometimes until
11pm. I do agree about the pashmina though.
  • I seriously get cold ALL the time :) FI makes fun of me. I am sitting at my desk with a blanket, sweater and a coat on. I just naturally get cold... and with Utah.. you never know. It is in the Canyon so it will be cooler than in town. Hmm I have a purple pashmina I didn't even think about that.
  • I get cold all the time too.... but June 30th in MN is going to be HOT. I am worried about being too HOT all night!

  • I sweat a ridiculous amount, especially with the amount of water I drink.  My dress is heavy so I'm worried I'm going to be uncomfortable because I'm all about breathable clothes normally.  That being said, I get randomly cold.  This might be something I'll get as a just in case, and return if I don't use it.

This is what I am worried about. Even tho it will be on the coast in Northern California, I will be really hot. I get hot really quickly. Even trying the dress on I was hot. So no Wrap/Shrug for me.

  • Our guys will be in navy suits, so I was considering getting a navy blazer just in case I get chilly. Although, I seriously doubt that will happen. I can always use the blazer afterwards if I decide on getting one. I've seen some girls wear cute cardigans.

I've considered getting a bolero or something to cover my shoulders later at night, but haven't really made any plans beyond that.  I'm in New England, so the weather could be anything from 50 to 80 degrees in mid-June!  I've seen some cute lace jackets that are about 3/4 sleeve with ruffles that I might go for, though it won't really keep me warm, just be a cute accessory.

  • I won't be spending my money on anything.

IF, for some reason I'm cold, I'll just take FI's jacket from his tux and put that on for a few. However, I don't see that happening.

  • If I get cold, I'll just snuggle up close to FI!
  • I actually love the look of a sweater with a wedding dress. It's just so preppy, I dont know what it is though. I just love it. I would get the JCrew Jackie cardigan in one of our wedding colors. http://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/sweaters/cardigans/PRDOVR~29350/29350.jsp

I love it too! I just don't want to wear one of my everyday cardigans with it.
I didn't even think to check J Crew.. I have been on there for almost everything else. Thanks Kelsey!

  • I saw these too! I had a friend from HS post pics on facebook of her wedding and she had a green cardigan.. I loved it!

I don't want it for the ceremony.. but I know I will get cold at the reception. When we go camping in that area in the summer it gets a little chilly.. we have patio heaters but I am still a wuss.
  • I think it would be super cute, especially if it's later on in the reception!
