Seating Chart/poster vs. Escort cards?

Hey guys! so my fiance is very good with the computer and he came up with an idea to do a seating chart or poster instead of escort cards. We have 14 tables, about 140 people. Is that too many people to do a seating chart as opposed to excort cards?

Not at all! I went to a wedding that had over 300 people on a seating chart poster and it looked great. Just make sure the font is big enough for people to read and that it's displayed somewhere that people can easily see and you should be fine.

We're doing both. We're having escort cards, but since we have 25 tables, we're also putting up a little poster that is a map of the room so it doesn't take everyone 10 minutes of wandering around looking for their table. Especially once the room is crowded, table numbers might be difficult to see for some of the latecomers, the poster will come in handy. Oh, and we're having about 160 people.

We're only having 45 guests and I'm doing a seating poster in a nice frame at the entrance.

If you're doing the poster I'd make 2, that way you don't have a bottle neck around one area. Also, I'm pro-escort cards, but its mostly because I'd need to check the poster 10 times to remember where I'm seated.

This. I think you can have a poster for any size wedding, as long as the information is easily accessible (i.e. names are in alphabetical order). That way people don't have to stand around searching for their names forever. HTH!

If you're doing plated meals I don't think it'd work. If you aren't then I think it'd be fine but do 2 like diamond said

This Exactly. We are using escort cards for this reason!
