Registry's

So I was wondering what would be to many registry's to have. I have 4 or 5 but i want to make sure i have things in every price range so my FMIL and my family don't feel like I'm asking for just expensive things. I honestly don't expect much of anything because just having my family with me is more then enough....Just having his family will be a god sent, money's tight and his family lives several thousand miles away. Back to the topic at hand, am I coming across greedy or wanting with so many???

You can have things in every price range, with one or two stores. I think that 4 or 5 registries is just too many. I had 2 and I have known some people to have 3 but I thought 3 was on the verge of excessive. Obviously it depends on what is on your registry and what your guests have access to, so I don't know if that is part of the reason why. What stores are your registered at? Most stores carry all of the same items, they might just be different models or offer different brands. In my opinion, unless you are registered at some specialty store, that many is a tad excessive.

I agree with Amanda.  I would try to cut it down to 2-3 max.  We had 2 as well and then we registered for a few specialty things at Crate and Barrel, which my mom told people about by word of mouth.  The best way to make sure you have things at every price range is to pick 2 stores, like Target and Macy's, which have vary price ranges to begin with.  HTH!

I have to say, I agree with the pp's, I think 2 is the appropriate amount.  More than that can get confusing and seems excessive.

That being said, I'm not sure which stores you were thinking about with the larger number, but I'd highly recommend an Amazon.com registry.  Because it's a universal registry, you can add anything from ANY web site, not just things sold on amazon.com.  We added things from Crate & Barrel, LLBean, Pottery Barn, etc., all in ONE registry.   I liked this a lot, since instead of having many registries, we combined quite a few into one list.

We also did an in-store registry at Bed, Bath & Beyond. We felt that this enabled guests to order online, or go to a store (and use coupons!)- whatever they preferred.

Overall, it's important to have things in lots of price ranges.  Ours varies from about $3.00 to $300, with most items in the more affordable  range.

    Good luck!

I agree with the other ladies.  Many stores carry a lot of the same things.  We had 2 registries...Macy's and BB&B.  We had things on both registries in different price ranges and no one had any problems with them.

I agree with all above, 2-3 registries is about perfect.  Your guests won't be spinning from all of the options, but will have enough to choose from.  I agree with Elizabeth above, too, keep your guests and their accessibility in mind when you choose your stores.  If they truly are really scattered around the world and you can't be sure what's available to them, and Amazon.com registry can be perfect.

Whatever you do, DO NOT go the route of my friend's cousin.  She sent a list of registries with her invite - considered highly rude in most circles - and it was literally a full page, single-spaced, of stores she was registered.  Not only was it entirely unnecessary, it definitely came across as greedy!

Yeah, I agree with others....2 is appropriate.  Three or more seems a bit excessive.

We registered at Bed Bath & Beyond and Target, (because we wanted to keep the item on the less expensive side).  We have things on there ranging from $10 to $200.
