Pre marriage counselling

Hey girls!
My fiance and I are being married by his aunt, who lives out of state.  However, we would still like to do some pre marriage counselling both for us and for the discount on the marriage license.  Does anyone have any advice / recommendations?
Thanks!!
P.S. We arent super religious also if that makes a difference.

We are going through two types of pre-marriage counseling. The first one is through the Catholic church, and the second one is the Twogether in Texas for the marriage license discount.

FI and I got SOO much more out of Twogether in Texas. The one through the church was more of a "getting to know you" type thing, and T in T was definitely more stuff like "ok, now that we are together and getting married, how do we avoid the pitfalls that lead to divorce?"

If you PM me, I can give you the name of the lady we took the class through.

second baptist host one every season. You don't have to be a member to go they have people take it all over houston. We had a great time taking this class. It is a weekend thing, but it was worth it.

I called about two gether in texas and the nice lady gave me a link to an online "test". It has each person answer questions about their family, relationship, etc. Then when the other person finishes it lets you know what parts of your relationship you need to work on. That way you are more prepared for the classes. You dont get to see what your fiance answered.

my husband and I did the two gether texas one.  We aren't very religious either but the one we went to was a christian prep course.  it wasn't too bad and we are actually going to find a church together whenever I move to FL.  We learned so much out of the class.  It is very helpful

My fiance and I just did the one thru Second Baptist this past weekend.  IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!  You go 4 hours on Friday night and 4 hours on Saturday morning.  I would reccommend this to anyone.  If you are blending a family, like we, then I seriously recommend it!!!  I can't say enough great things about it.

My husband and I did counseling through our church, but we also attended A Weekend to Remember marriage conference which I highly recommend.  The conference has general sessions for both married/engaged couples, as well as break out sessions specifically for engaged couples.  It also will allow you to receive the marriage license discount:

My fiance and I also did Twogether in Texas as well as the counseling through our church. Twogether in Texas was great (dont let the fact that it's state run fool you!). I thought it was an excellent class and really talked about alot of different things and there were A TON of couples exercises. Even my fiance (who was not all excited about going) said he had a great time and really enjoyed the instructor. We took the one at Lone Star College off 290 (we didn't want faith based since we were doing one at the church).

Side note though lol, one thing I really enjoyed is watching alot of the other couples. By the end, it is VERY obvious which couples will stay together (happily ever after) and which ones probably wont last...

Twogether in Texas was great. It actually taught us a lot about our relationship. Is was not religious and after 8 hours my fiance actually had a good time. It has helped our relationship since and brought up issues that we didn't think to talk about. The couple that ran it was great and it was a free class. They also played funny clips throughout the class so it went by reall y  quickly. My future mo ther in law said we learned things that took her years to learn.
