Help....Tear in veil....

I just got this veil 2 weeks ago from a garment shop in NYC.  It has a scalloped edge with crystals on it.  Well I was trying it on last night with this headpiece i just got to show my mom and dad and 1 string pulled and left a pull and a little tear.  im devastated, im going to try to go back to the garment shop today and see if she can repair it.....any other suggestions????? and does anyone know of a dress maker in the westchester area that can make me a new veil?????

  • Oh man!  I'm so sorry that happeend :(  The good news is... I have a veil that I never wore that I'm looking to sell if you are interested and can't find something else.  I bought it to match my dress and I ended up purchasing a new dress that no longer matched the veil.  It is a bel-aire veil, diamond white in color, and has crystals along the edges.  If you want to see pictures, let me know: stephanie_moffa at yahoo.com.

    Good luck either way!

  • I'm not sure where you purchased yours, but Margaret at Bridal Veil Falls in the East Village fixed my mom's veil for me.  She does it all by hand herself, and I think she may be able to help you.  Good luck!
  • I would also suggest, if you need a new veil, to go to Etsy.com.  I got my cathedral length, two tiered veil with a matte satin trim for onnly $65!!  So they could be a good resource for a new one and if you go to "abusymother"'s shop on etsy.com (that's who I used) and she or someone else may be able to copy the veil you have already.

    Good luck!!

Thank you so much kapabe!!! After you recommended Magret at Bridal Veil Falls in the east village, i took my veil there and she came up with a solution.  I actually picked it up this weekend and it looks better than before!!! the pull isnt there anymore and she added more sparkle! thank you so much!!!!
