For your viewing pleasure!

The pups are now 2 weeks old and growing up fast. They are still being hand fed, but doing really well.

Re: For your viewing pleasure!

  • Yes, we have pick of the litter. Their poor momma died a week after they were born and when she died one of the pups got smothered. So, there were 8, now 7.
We will most likely take a female.

  • Aww so incredibly cute!  What breed?
  • Aww.  I'm so jealous KD.  Will you leave her ears natural?

Yes, just like our beloved Cleo. Below is a picture of our baby we had to put down last year. We still miss her!

    They are Dobermans, all reds.

  • Aww! Man I want a puppy! I don't have the time to take care of one right now, and we need to wait until we get a yard planted and a fence put up :(
  • Yay for natural ears!  Cleo was a beauty.

[QUOTE]That is so sad about the momma, KD. :(  They seem to be doing well! Any thoughts on names yet?

We want to pick one first, but we are leaning towards Sonya or Sadie.

When we get back from England in a few weeks we'll take a trip to meet them. By then they'll be about 5 weeks.

[QUOTE]Only one puppy?  They are so cute, KD!  Growing up my parents had a brown dobie. His name was Bo and he liked to follow me around and try to protect me. He knocked me over several times because he'd stand so close to me. I'd grab onto him and hoist myself back up. He was one of the gentlest dogs I have ever been around.

They are great arent they. The lean is why they are called "velcro" dogs. Cleo was the sweetest dog, but she could be intimidating when need be.

I know! I thought of you when we were thinking of names.

Or when we get her I'll just open a thread for name ideas ;)

  • Oh man, adorable!

The one dog I've met named Sadie was really sweet.  I like that as a dog name.

I miss when our puppy was tiny and adorable like that - he's still cute, but not in the same way!

    Lurking :)

We are still working on training at least a little basically every day after 10 months, so I agree that pre-training would be nice.  I'm starting to understand that it may be a long-term process, at least until he is no longer such a puppy!  But it's so worth it.

We actually think the only silver lining to this whole tragedy with Momma. At least they will be well socialized and used to being with people.

  • AWW! They are so sweet :)
We just tried breeding our male GSD last weekend, I'm hoping it takes, planning on getting one puppy for FI's best friend if it worked *fingers  crossed*
FI says I'm not allowed another puppy/dog till after the wedding :'(. We have a german sheperd, FI doesn't like Dobies or Great danes for some reason... He's weird in that way :)
