Photographer and Videographer Recommendations

I'm looking for a photographer and videographer for my August 18, 2012 wedding. If anyone has any recommendations based on their own experiences let me know. Thanks so much!

i absolutely have a recommendation for you. ashley mcarthur photography. they were absolutely wonderful. tell them nicole and dellin referred you. i am attaching pics so you can see some of their work, but for really pics go to their website ashleymcarthurphotography.com. They were very reasonable and very patient and gave us 8 hours of non stop coverage from getting ready to shots of the hotel, ceremony, reception and everything else you can imagine!!!!!!!! again, they are awesome and you will not regret at least speaking with them. They are a husband and wife team with a videographer! I can give you their contact info when you email me at nicalex2008@verizon.net. My name is nicole smith and we got married on October 8, 2011 in dc. They travel as well!

I used Corey Culbreath, whom I contracted through Bella Photographers, but he also does it on his own for photography

I have to admit, I'm happier with the video than I was with the photos, but I think Cliff just had more attention to detail than Corey did. And we kept Corey running so it probably wasn't entirely his fault. There wre just little things, like sometimes there was something in the background that I wish he had gotten a different angle to the picture so that we couldn't see the street/van/pole, things like that, but for the most part I love my pictures.

Absolutely loved my photographer - Kate Pelura of Brian Ray Studios

Pictures came out really nicely and I felt we got a lot for the amount of money. Plus Kate had this great energy, she made engagement pictures fun and her and her assistant managed to capture all of the important moments on the wedding day.

Videography was less important for us - we wanted something really simple - meaning not too much editing and not expensive. We used Dean Dykema of Always & Forever

Two of the best wedding photographers that I've found in the DC area are Katie Stoops Photography and Natalie Franke Photography - Katie shoots film so it has a grainier look and she is very artsy.. Natalie does a lot of work with very DIY-savy martha stewart weddings types. Her work is seriously unbelievable. Both have been published in print which is a major plus.

I'm emailing both of them for my wedding once I have a better idea of my budget. Once you look high end, it's really tough to choose anything less - you know!

Hello,

My name is Tim Hudspeth. Me and my fiance recently joined The Knot to prepare for our big day. I am also a videographer and I am breaking into the wedding videography business. I am in the Prince Georges County area right outside of DC. I have filmed, directed, and edited over 15 videos, (short films, music videos, events, etc.) Because I am breaking into the business, my prices are fairly low at 1000K but I am more than willing to work with any budget. I dont want these prices to scare anyone away, however. These are my prices because I am trying to build my wedding videography resume. I will still produce 5000K work.
