DC Public Lands and Rain

My fiance and I are thinking of getting married in Meridian Hill Park. Because it is DC public lands, no tents are allowed. Thoughts on how we can prepare or protect in case of rain?

The best I could suggest is buying a bunch of umbrellas that match your wedding colors - it could make for very cute photos!  Unfortunately, having an outdoor wedding at a place that doesn't allow tents always runs this risk.  You could also have an indoor location reserved as a backup (like at your reception hall or something).

I hear you - Meridian Hill Park is *gorgeous*.  It might be a good idea to have a backup reception place where you could move the ceremony in case or rain.  Unless it's going to be a couple of mins ceremony you do want to make sure your guests are comfortable.

I'm getting married at the Josephine Butler Parks Center, which overlooks Meridian Hill Park from 15th St.  It's a bit pricey, but a weekday might affordable.

I agree...check into the Josephine Butler Parks Center as the rain site.
