Nice Restuarant in Tacoma?

Soooo.....for my bachelorette party, I was thinking it would be nice to go out for dinner and then to the Tacoma Comedy Club. I really wanted to go to the Melting Pot for dinner, because I have never been and it sounded like it would be really fun for the bach party.....buttttt it's really expensive and I didn't know and my bridesmaid are all really strapped for cash these days (who isn't?)

Soooooo do you have any recommendations for nice restuarants in Tacoma (preferrably down-town, but not absolutely necessary), that doesn't cost $60/person......I want to go to a nice restaurant but one that will be kinda fun and won't cost so much money. I just don't want to go to something boring/every-day like Red Robin...or whatever. You know?

Any interesting, fun restuarants out there that would work well for all that? Thanks!

The Harmon has really good food and is right off Pac Ave, Anthony's down by Point Defiance, Johnny's Dock off D st, Lobster Shop off Ruston Way (there's others on Ruston Way but this is my fav) & Stanley and Seaforts . That's what I can think of so far if I think of any thing else I'll post something.

    TwoKoi is pretty good.
The Varsity Grill is a sports bar, if that's your thing. Great food, and un-tacky decor.
    The Old Spaghetti Factory.
Ravenous Restaurant- I've heard good things about it but have never been. Their thing is wine.
I would not recommend Harbor Lights on Ruston Way; their bland, cheap food was not worth the money when I've been there.
BJ's (right next to the mall) is delicious.
    Hope this helps.

One solution if you're still thinking Melting Pot is happy hour. However, watch that the happy hour prices listed on the menu is for smalls, not larges. It still cost four of us something like $100 for a happy hour dinner.

    Other happy hours/places to consider:
I hear good things about Primo Grill but I've never been.
    I love Asado.
I think Duke's just started including the deck in happy hour.
    Stanley & Seafort's
Pomodoro is pretty good Italian but if you're into Italian for the pre-meal bread, not so much.
    I always like Europa, too.
I've heard good things about Over the Moon Cafe but haven't been.
Indochine is dressed-up dinner Thai that is really good. They have some fancy private party options: http://indochinedowntown.com/Events_Pavilion.htm
Or, you might consider doing a tepanyaki place. I think there are a couple in Tacoma and Mizu in Gig Harbor is pretty good.

Let me know if you need any more ideas!

There's an amazing Italian restaurant near the mall - Adriatic Grill. Their prices are decent and the food is amazing. BJ's has pretty good food and is decently priced also.
