Silk Flowers Recommendations?

Eeeeek! As of today, I've got less than 6 months to go!!! Hitting the 6 month mark has lit a fire under me to get some of my lingering to-do's done...Up next is flowers!

I have decided I'm going to do silk bouquets- for cost savings and to allow me to have them all set many weeks in advance and not worry about having what arrives not be what I want. So my question is does anyone have any recommednations for either local or online vendors they've used? I've browsed etsy and a few other websites but the idea of just ordering things based on photos online is a little unerving... I've looked at silk floral options and up close and person, you can really tell the difference in quality and I'm afraid some cheap/ugly in person flowers may look ok in a photo online and then I'll be dissapointed with the product that ships to me.

I'm hoping maybe someone might know of an actual local vendor that I could meet with in person? Or any recommendations as to the best place to buy supplies to do it yourself? DIY is still an option I'm considering since I'm so particular and afraid to order online....

I'd appreciate any thoughts or advice anyone has! thanks :)

Re: Silk Flowers Recommendations?

  • I am doing Silk for the same exact Reasons as you are- I tried DIY'ing mine and I had bad luck. I also started looking on Etsy and was contemplating it, but then was very nervous about the quality, and the designer I was in contact with actually Mailed me some Pels so I could get a feel for the Quality and Color. she has been so good with dealing with my ultra pickyness and indecisivness, and was willing to try something she hadnt done before ( working with Hops for Boutineers). all in all, she has been exceptional to work with and has sent me loads of pictures during the process. http://www.etsy.com/shop/IsabellaRiceDesigns  thats the Link to her if your interested
  • I found my flowers on www.silksareforever.com and theyre amazing! they have some bouquest that come already made and a huge variety of colors and flowers. They look so realistic. They also have boutineers and flowers for decorating. The prices are alot better than real flowers and the shipping is fast like about a week for the 6 bouquets that I got. I hope thats somewhat helpful! :)
