Vendor Review

Hey all,

Just got married on Friday. The day was amazing as were the vendors. I thought I jot some things down for you girls who were looking for vendors.

Venue - Shenandoah Mill. So pretty. There was plenty of room for everyone. The website may say 225, but they will accomodate up to 300. They let you bring in any vendors you want. Only beer and wine if you want to do it yourself. If you want the hard stuff you have to get a bartender. We had a lot of kids at the wedding so there was plenty of room for the kids to run around. My nieces and nephew were so tired from playing they fell asleep upstairs in the bridal suite. Patrick the proprietor is a little hard to work with - be assertive and keep your records and you'll be fine.

Caterer - Andrew's Catering. The food was incredible. I've had so many compliments on how good it was and how great the staff was. We had a buffet and simple food, but they do get fancy with their food as well. We were at another wedding that they did with everything to the tip top. Jody, the manager is so easy to work with. Even if you don't get them as a caterer definitely go check out their restaurant Andrew's BBQ. Such good food. My favorite item there is the macaroni and cheese with green chile in it.

DJ - Ultimate Sound Satisfaction http://ultimatesoundsatisfaction.com/ - George was so great to work with. He came up with the timeline for the reception based on our hours at the venue and everything that we wanted. That made my planning so much easier and took a TON of stress off me. Our guests loved him and he knew all the right music to play at the right time during the dance. Our dance floor was never empty - and a lot of times we had people running to get on the dance floor. Although we did not use it - he also has a side business with a photobooth - I've heard some great things about it.

Cake - Kathy's Rum Cake - enough said. YUMM!

Photographer - Talitha Tarro www.talithatarro.com She is amazing to work with. She doesn't get all posey posey with things and takes a ton of moving shots. She's not totally traditional and does such good work with lighting. She's based out of NM but would probably make the trip out. We loved working with her. FI is in film school and could not stop talking about the quality of work that she does.

All in all great day great service and I have no regrets. The only thing I would change is save up a little more money to hire a day of coordinator.
