Books (NWR)

What books are you currently reading/interested in reading? How do you find the time to read between work/school, and planning?

--I've gotten pulled into the obsession that is Fifty Shades of Grey Embarassed lol, I haven't been able to put them down and in less than a week I've already gotten through half way through the third book. Its hard to find time to read and honestly I've been sneaking in a few pages here and there through out my day lol. Not sure what I want to pick up after this though, I'm actually kinda sad I'm almost done with it..

  • I am a huge book worm. I read the 50 triology over a month ago and yeah it was addicting. :) I am now on the 3rd book in the Hunger Games . I hated the first one. liked the 2nd better and the 3rd I am liking more. not my typical read. FI bought me the kindle fire for mothers day so now I have my book with me everywhere. I read whenever I can.

  • I have a Kindle so I read all the time, my job is pretty slow so I can read at my desk. I am halfway through the 3rd Hunger Games book right now, read them all this month. Just couldn't put them down.

I definitley want to read the Fifty Shades of Grey next. I also love Nicholas Sparks books, I have a bunch of those on my Kindle, they are always good.

I love the Hunger Games. I'm not really interested in the 50 Shades books, not my style at all.

If you like HG then you should check out Divergent (that's the first book, the second just came out & is called Insurgent).

I'm currently reading all of the Harry Potter books. I've seen the first 3 movies but I've never read the books so I bought the whole series on my nook. I'm on the 4th one now.

  • I'm currently into the Lucky Santangelo series by Jackie Collins :-) I'm not in school anymore, so usually I read before I go to bed or after I get off work. I have a bunch of other books on reserve at the library, my local library has an awesome app that allows you renew and reserve books- that's been dangerous for me lol.

  • I already read all the Hunger Games and they were really good. I was impressed the movie was actually pretty similar but of course the book was still better. I was surprised I've gotten addicted to the 50 series as its not usually my style. I dont have a kindle but I got the app on my Ipad so I've been glued to it since I got it lol!

@rdr - OMG I love the HP series! My family and I are huge fans I was raised on those books lol! Since I live in FL I have had the privilage of going to Harry Potter world at Universal and just woooow!

I just read the Hunger Games a week or so ago...they were great! Now I'm between books.  I get too into books generally and then I don't sleep so I have to pick my times to read.  I probably won't pick somthing upgain until the middle of June when I have to fly somewhere for a family thing.

<div>Not bad at all. And we're already renting a car. I'll have to look into how much park passes cost & maybe we could stay at a hotel for 1 night to break up the driving. Fingers crossed :)</div>

  • @rdr I can atest to the drive from Jacksonville to Orlando not being bad at all. I used to live in St Pete and would drive to Jacksonville were my ex-Il's lived and it would take about 3.5 hrs and its an easy drive. Worth the trip if your down there already.

I can pretty much read anything BUT horror books. My main authors are Nicholas Sparks, and Danielle Steel. Hunger Games was just tough for me to read about kids killing kids. I dont think Id ever go to see the movie. I like a good biography also.

  • @RDR I loved the HP series, and I also sadly admit that I was hooked on the Twilight series as well.

I will have to look into Divergent and Insurgent. I will need something new to read soon. :)

I LOVE those books!!! They are actually making it into a movie... I am going to start reading Beautiful Disaster. It is more "Vanilla" compared to Fifty Shades....

I want to read 50 Shades of Grey as well.
I love Nicholas Sparks (I'm from NC so kind of biased!)...I have read all of his books so far. Have you seen the movie The Lucky One? The book was good but I think Zac Efron will ruin it for me.
Another author I enjoy is Jodi Picoult (My Sister's Keeper, etc).

<div>I'm not a "Twihard" by any means hahaha But I read the books & was definitely entertained. I preferred the books to the movies. </div><div>
</div><div>I read Divergent & really liked it. Haven't gotten to Insurgent yet but I heard it was just as good.</div>

  • I don't think I have seen a movie yet that is as good as the book.

Don't get me wrong, the HP and Twilight movies were good but the books were just so much better in my opinion.

  • I read mostly non-fiction. Currently have Kate (a biography on Katherine Hepburn) on my nightstand, and before that I finally got around to reading Frank McCourt's memoirs (Angela's Ashes, 'Tis and Teacher Man) I would highly reccomend those!

Right now I'm reading Steven Tyler's memoirs. Next might be the fifty shades on grey series. I love chick lit.

  • I've actually had more time to read now that I have graduated, yay!  I've kickstarted my weekly trips to the library and am now on a non-fiction kick.   I fluctuate from time to time but I have an odd obsession with Broadway history and critique so I'm now reading Changed for Good and A Problem Like Maria, both on feminist critiques of Broadway musicals.

  • I agree with RebCappon, I'm gonna look into the divergent book. I just finished 50 shades :( lol so I need another good book/ series. And since you all have confessed to liking the twilight books I too fell for those lol!

  • I love any kind of historical fiction.  I go through spurts where I read a lot and spurts when I don't.  Right now I'm not reading a lot.  I actually tend to read more when I'm stressed out, because it calms me.
