Lombardis on the Bay or Thatched Cottage?????

Hey Girls, I need your advice.

FH and I narrowed our venues to 2 choices.

Lombardis on the Bay offered us a great deal for a Friday night wedding next October which is actually our anniversary. The ballroom is stunning and the food is delicious.

TC was actually $5 cheaper pp for the Saturday after our anniversary. The site wasn't as pretty as LotB and I don't have any experience with the quality of food.

I'm so torn. The Friday has special meaning to us but I know people have certain opinions on Friday weddings.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Well I personally have never been to Lombardis on the Bay, but I have been to the Thatched Cottage, and to was ok. The view is pretty the food was ok not great and room we were in was ok....during the party we were able to hear the other party going on pretty clearly, so over all it was an ok experience nothing to really rave about(although it was not for a wedding that I was there for) . But I have heard wonderful things about L-on the bay. Hope that helps alittle....GL :)

My friend works at the Thatched Cottage and I have been to some events there, though not a wedding.  I know that the food I have had there has been really good.  I don't know about Lombardi's though.

I really don't like lombardi's food at all and when I was looking at their villa lambardi's the sales people were very pushy. when I stopped at the thatched cottage they wouldn't let me my grandma and my mom look around by ourselves they were very rude to us and we left....are you looking for a place that is on the water? also how far are you willing to go for a place? did you try Giorgio's or east wind? I just booked at east wind the estate the the staff was amazing.

i would go with your gut of a friday. if that's what you want, it will be fine and people WILL show up because they love you and are happy for you. our wedding is on a sunday very far out east (East Wind in Wading River) and i'm not worried about what people will think. its YOUR wedding day. it will be fabulous and its what YOU want :)

    LOMBARDI'S!!!

I went to TC a few weeks ago. Food was cold, drinks were watered down, we were so cold in the room we drank coffee for half of the event. I really do not reccommend this place!
