The Merion or Luciens Manor

Has anyone been to The Merion or Luciens Manor in South Jersey, or had their wedding there within the last year?? I wanted to get some feedback on food, service, price, etc. I have an appointment scheduled this weekend, and just wanted to get some thoughts from people who may have been there for an event.  Thanks :)

Here is a list of venues other Knotties used: http://phillyblog.yolasite.com/knottie-vendor-list.php

Looks like ev and priya used The Merion. If they don't see this you can start a post with their names in it and hopefully they will answer. I can let ev know you have a question.

I had my wedding at the Merion in April.  It was AMAZING.  I worked with Stephanie as my bridal consultant, and she was great.  We had an issue with the florist showing up late, and then not setting up our flowers.  The people at the Merion ended up doing it instead.  I had no idea it even happened until after the fact, it went that smoothly.  Their prices are highest in the on-season and Saturday nights.  They are willing to negotiate if you tell them their prices are above your price point.  They do a lot when it comes to having a cocktail hour with several stations, and a dessert hour.  Plus they let you customize.  They gave us a slider station when I mentioned that my DH loved burgers.  They let us substitute pasta for the soup course.  Overall it was an amazing experience.  I would have another event at the Merion in a heartbeat.  If you have any questions, let me know!

I was a guest at a wedding at the Merion in August and it was lovely.  The ballroom was gorgeous and the food was ah. may. zing.  Seriously, the cocktail hour was a pregnant chick's dream.  I don't know how they run in cost, but it was beautiful.

I had my wedding at Lucien's Manor in September 09 in the Nouvelle Room (small room).  I can't say enough great things about the whole experience.  The food was amazing, the staff was wonderful and great to work with and we basically had a stress free wedding reception where we could enjoy ourselves. People still talk about how amazed they were by everything.  My parents, who are very low key and really don't have a lot of say, could not stop raving about the whole experience.  Some people actually thought the cocktail hour was the actual dinner, there was so much food! One of the things I got a lot of comments on was that the guests were offered seconds of dinner (we had a sit down where everyone got two entrees).  There were four receptions the night of my wedding, and you never would have known it.   The staff was very accomodating with our requests, such as the Phillies ice sculpture and design of our cake, which was delicious.  I basically showed them pictures and they created exactly what we wanted.  My vendors also said they were very accomodating to them as well, which was nice to hear.

We booked our reception in 2007 and the price with the taxes etc. I believe ended up being around $110 a person.   Good luck!
