Favors

flute favors

I need help. My fiance and I changed our minds from edible favors to champagne glasses because of a really good deal we found. I've been looking at other posts and noticed how many people think that favors with someone else's names on it are not looked upon too favorably so I need to figure out what to do with these flutes. They are nice glasses (not from the Dollar Store) but completely plain. Do I stuff them with a bag of candy and call them good or do I still get them etched with some design to make them prettier. Ideas please?????

I would avoid etching them with anything.

Perhaps you could personalize them with a wine charm....they are ridiculously easy and inexpensive to make....the charm could tie into your color scheme, or you could attach a photo charm to the wiring as a way to personalize. Even attaching a simple bow or ribbon at the base would look nice; perhaps those personalized ribbons.

You could perhaps find colored sugar cubes to drop at the bottom for a champagne cocktail.

We are using margarita glasses as our favor but "doubling" them as escort cards as well.  (The signature drink is a pink frozen margarita.)  We have created an escort card to look like a lime wedge, and will "rim" each glass with a "lime" .  The guests then can take their glass to their table, where we will have a coaster "holding" a spot for the glass on the table.  We may also rim the glass with pink sugar crystals----the jury is still out on that plan.

    Good luck!

I agree not to personalize them with your names or wedding date, but see nothing wrong with etching them with a design of some sort.

Are you giving these out in pairs? I wouldn't know what to do with 1 flute, so I think you should include 2 per guest/couple

The wine glasses are going out 1/person or 2/couple. I am considering putting chocolates in each glass wrapped in pink and brown (our wedding colors) wrappers. I will also use a pink or brown ribbon around the stem of each one with a thank you tag attached. The more I've been thinking about this since my OP the more I've been thinking I should not engrave them because I could never find one thing that would match everyone's taste. At least plain champagne flutes can be matched with other plain champagne flutes.

don't know if you are up for it...but I love seeing chalkboard wine glasses that allow you to write names on it or messages...maybe you can make  DIY chalkboard flutes...
