How much for a day of coordinator?

I am looking to hire a DOC in the Kansas City area and was wondering

a) what the price range is?
b) recommendations for coordinators to contact
c) do you think a DOC is worth the money?

    I considered White Lily, and my recollection that it cost a bit more than that (at least for the package I was considering, which was day-of design, etc). Maybe $600 -- I can't remember for sure, and I can't find the papers I got from her.

    I ended up going with Danielle Suarez at Soiree at a cost of $850 for only reception (not ceremony) coordinating. She's going to take care of everything on the day of, and she'll coordinate my vendors. Because I will not have time to take care of all of that the day of the wedding, it is totally worth it for me. Plus, I don't live in KC, so she's been great at making recommendations and things.
