Ok so I have a lot of time to plan before the big day in 2015! My FI and I want to have our wedding on a specific day, so when is the best time to start contacting vendors?

    You can start now - at least look at what the venues offer and what you like so far. 

    It will be 2 years from engagement to the big day for me, and it was very helpful!  I found that the venues tend to raise their prices almost every year, so if you find somewhere that you like and that is in your budget, go ahead and book it!

    Having that much time eases a lot of the pressure - but it's still there :)

    With that being said, book at very least one year prior, dates fill up QUICKLY.

    Places do raise their prices every year so I would look for a venue first and when you find one you love, book it...then the rest of the plans can come much later. I planned in 8months and then only hiccups I ran into was venues being booked for the date I want.
