So, my beloved proposed to me completely unexpectedly about a month ago (Dec.6). Shortly thereafter, we were looking at possible wedding bands and I asked her if she would like an engagement ring also (mostly because she wears next to no jewelry - just diamond studs in her ears). After a bit of thought and discussion, she told me that I should pick one and just surprise her with it later. That night, I went online and ordered the one I thought she'd spent the most time looking at and liked best in the store. It finally arrived today - almost two and a half weeks later - and I have been jumping out of my skin all day!! After dinner, I sat her in the same place in our living room that she sat me when she proposed... :-) ...she didn't get the connection and when I started telling her how much I loved her and how strong we had become by working together through hard times, she said she thought I was breaking up with her!! I said "NO!" and pulled out the box and asked her if she would marry me. Needless to say, I am all full of *squee* at the moment!
Wondering how many couples had two proposals, or something like it? I've noticed a trend on some of the other boards for "man-gagement" rings for the groom-to-be in heterosexual couples. ::shrugs:: JC, really.
