Is this real life?

Sooo, we're getting married in 16 days...I don't know what my emotions are - I'm totally excited and can't wait, but I also don't feel like it's "real" yet. It's quite weird! I did a lot beforehand, so I don't have much left to finish, which is really nice. I hate feeling rushed!

Anyways, I just felt like posting because I don't feel that nervous yet - I'm very excited, but I still have 2 weeks to go, so it feels like a while (even though it's not...)

Everyone keeps telling me the most nervewracking part is just before and during walking down the aisle. I'm sure I'll be saying the same thing afterwards.

I hope I don't forget anything. I have to-do lists everywhere...so I shouldn't! :) But let me know if you have any unique reminders that you wish you had thought of!

If you're planning to do table visits during your reception (or otherwise be up and about during dinner), see if the venue coordinator can prepare a couple doggie bags for you and your H to take at the end of the night. We ate like five bites of our food, which was fine at the time (tight dress and all), but when I got home and into PJs all I wanted was FOOD!

I thought I'd be more nervous than I was, but when it came down to it, I really wasn't. I also didn't think I'd cry so I didn't plan ahead for any sort of kleenex or hankie, and then I totally broke down during the vows. That rocked. So...plan for contigencies :-)

  • I wish I would have just relaxed the day of; esp the reception.  I really made it harder on myself than it needed to be and as a result I didn't enjoy the reception as much as I could have.
  • I was nervous the morning of--reallllllly anxious when I was getting my hair done and getting ready.

    BUT

as soon as I put my wedding dress on, ALL, I mean ALL, of my nerves and anxiety went away and was totally calm the rest of the way.
  • Just try to sit back and relax... you already have so much done!  Mine is in 28 days and I am still DIYing like crazy!!

My most nerve wracking thoughts were the night before.  I'm not sure why - I just felt like I was on the edge of something just so big.

The next day, though, it was gone.  I was the happiest person ever.
  • Thanks ladies! :)

I also did a lot of DIY-ing!! I love that kind of stuff, so I enjoyed every minute of it. I think I'm going to miss all the hype when it's over! :)

We'd like to try starting a family a few months afterwards, so I'll have somewhere else to shift my focus! Haha!

  • Everything is going to be fine. Try your best to relax on the days leading up to it. Don't listen to other people who keep saying you should be nervous. On the day of, just soak it all up. It will blaze by. Make an effort to stick with your FI & not let people separate you to talk or take pics too much. At least once, take 5min to step outside the room & just peer in. Absorb the fact that they're all there for you.

We didn't have any problems with food. We did a sweetheart table & ate first, completely, before doing table rounds. We definitely didn't go hungry.
