Dry Creek Ranch House venue

Hi everyone!

I've been on the hunt for a nice ranch style outdoor wedding venue for my July 2012 wedding.  I recently came across pictures of two weddings that took place at Dry Creek Ranch House in Rio Linda and fell in love with the venue.  My problem is that I can not find a person to contact about cost and details of making that venue mine!  I'm interested in any info anyone can provide, any can help !

Thanks ya all!
H.

Yep, she is right on the money! I was the photographer at at least one of those weddings you're talking about, I'm sure, the one that was published Real Weddings Magazine and on the Rio Linda news website and I went hunting for the information about the venue as well so I could post it on my blog when I blogged about the event. That is the correct info. It is run by Parks & Rec and you have to call a bunch of random numbers to track them down. It is not commonly used for weddings, I think my bride started a trend there with her wedding so they don't really have a website set up for that.  Here's the post: http://eheizerphotography.blogspot.com/2010/09/classic-country-wedding-sara-brian.html I can tell you that it was a great site to work on, very flat and safe. no critters, which can be a problem with these types of venues. The "parking lot" is the field out in front of the house, which kind of takes away from the view when you're driving in, but it wasn't that big of a deal. The only funny thing was our close proximity to the road meant there was a lot of hootin' and hollarin' from local Rio Linda passerby when we were taking pictures on the farm equipment. LOL Reflection of the area I guess. It's a country wedding!!!! LOL

I am wondering if alcohol is allowed at this venue. My research is showing that there is not & that would be very disappointing as otherwise this is an ideal venue. Please let me know if you know otherwise.

Um... HMMM. I don't remember that there was no alcohol. They had bottled soda, you know, the old fashioned kind and a HUGE variety. I obviously don't drink when I am working so I don't know for sure though. But when a wedding has NO alcohol, I usually notice. I don't remember that about this one.

So I just went through my negatives from the wedding, and it is really hard to tell because they had such a wide variety of sodas, but I THINK that I see bottled beer on the tables. It has "WHEAT" in big letters on the label, and I'm pretty sure I can see the alcohol warning on the side. (I wasn't out to photograph the booze, so I had to dig to dig a dirty table picture, I sort of strive NOT to take those! lol) But it looks like they did have alcohol.

Did you try just calling and asking?
  • Were you able to find any contact info?  The phone number below says "this call will be recorded for law enforcement purposes" when I call it so I promptly hang up!  :P

I love the photos of this location and would like to know more but can't find any additional information online.  I'm looking for an outdoor venue for an October wedding.  Any help you can provide on how to get a hold of this place or an address I'd be so grateful for!
