Flowers

Decisions...decisions...

Our wedding colors are black and white with apple green accents. Our wedding is outside so there will be a lot of natural colorful flowers all over the site...all different colors and types. I am not a huge flower person, so we are doing non-floral centerpieces and will really only need flowers for bouquets and bouts, and maybe a few decorations for the bar. I am having trouble choosing flowers...should I stick with mostly white flowers with green accents? I was also tossing around the idea of doing a variety of flowers that have nothing to do with our colors...like go to the local farmers market and get the wildflower bunches (sunflowers, daisies, etc) and make mixed bouquets, but I don't know if that would look stupid.

Re: Decisions...decisions...

  • A lot of brides go the wildflower route and hand pick their bouquets the morning of, so there's definitely nothing stupid looking about it.  Considering your venue has a wide variety of flowers already present, that could actually be a great look.  Chaos matching chaos as it were.

It's kind of up to you and what you would like.  If you want a "clean" look, then  the white flowers with green accents would be a great choice (a friend of mine who got married in January followed this color scheme and it was really pretty and sophisticated looking).  I personally kind of like your wildflower idea, especially considering the venue.
  • Hmmmm....apple green dresses with multicolored bouquets sounds gorgeous.
  • It is all a personal preference. Our colors were black & white with silver accents. We had all white flowers, the bouquets/bouts/corsages were the 20 piece white rose wedding package from Costco, and the flowers on the tables were white asiatic lillies with baby's breath, and lower centerpieces with white roses and baby's breath.

If you decide you want a lot of different colors in your flowers, no one is going to look at that and say "why so many colors when everything else is white & black with green accents". They will think your selection is lovely if it represents YOU and your fiance's vision.
