MIA - Buying Alcohol in Bulk From NH

Hey Ladies, I've totally been MIA, but am just now getting my act back together (it is crunch time after all!).

My FI and I are working on the bar/alcohol service items, as we are providing all of our own liquor.  Does anyone know if it is worth trekking to NH to purchase all the alcohol?  Are the savings that large?

Originally we had planned on using Gordon's or Kappy's, but then a friend suggested we'd save a bundle by going to NH.

At this point I don't want to do a lot of running around, so I am open to suggestions from anyone who has been down this road before.  TIA!

I would love to see what people say about this as FI and I are thinking about doing the exact same thing.

In my experience it is totally worth it.  You can always choose a couple of items and price check them with a phone call to the three places.

We will be buying everythng in NH.

Here's my suggestion, buy the specialty liquor from NH and use Kappy's or some other liquor service for the alcohol because if you run of our beer, champagne and wine, they can always supply you with more and you can always return what you don't use. The specialty liquor  buy in NH - like your spirits, you don't need to buy in bulk, just get an estimate of how much you need for the number of guests you are having (see link below) Call the three big wholesale liquor stores for quotes on say certain brands of vodka, whiskey, brandy, cognac ect. (if you are planning on having a full bar) G.L

btw I'd take advantage of tax free day in MA and buy  some alcohol, since it is not too early to stock.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies!  I didn't want to make the trip without checking first, but purchasing just the Top-Shelf stuff from NH sounds like a wise idea.  The rest we'll get locally.
