Wedding Nightmares

So far I've had three, with the worst being last night:

1)  I walked down the aisle carrying our cake instead of a bouquet, tripped at the end of said aisle, and dumped cake all over FI, the OF, and the BP.

2)  FI walked down the aisle to me.  So odd, but not horribly bad.

3)  Last night I dreamed we got to the ceremony location and there were no flowers waiting for us, so my mom and I LEFT and tried to find some.  All fresh flowers in Savannah were sold out, so we bought cheapy fake looking ones from Hobby Lobby.  This took us 5 hours, so obviously when we got back everyone was pissed because we made them wait so long.  Half the guests had left, the photographers had showed up and left, the florist had finally showed up, but was pissed and left all the flowers sitting out in the sun and not in water, so they were all wilted.  And for whatever reason, I had forgotten my dress, so I walked down the aisle in jeans carrying my crappy fake flowers, while FI was dashing at the end with his tux and everyone else was nicely dressed as well.

Do they usually get worse the closer you get to your wedding date?  I mean, I have most things done...I thought I could avoid the wedding nightmares by being ahead of the game and not having anything to stress out about.

Need I remind you of my dream where FI made us tile a floor during our ceremony to symbolize unity?

I had my first the other night. We were a week out and everything was planned. FI decided to book us tickets to get married in Vegas TONIGHT. I was pretty pissed considereing I had everything basically done until I remembered that I completely forgot to get tuxes for the groomsmen.

I also had a dream that our house was in a large panda conservatory and our children were eaten by pandas. I wasn't too upset about the kids but moreso about them taking the pandas away and building a subdivision by our house because of the incident.

    WTF?!

    ...I had one last night.

We were at a Church.  FI was pissed b/c we weren't getting married at the Church (we're doing everything at the same place) and he told me we couldn't get married if it wasn't in a Church.  Then he left.

I woke up crying and shook FI awake to tell him that if he wants to get married in a Church we can...but I need to know what he wants.  He told me I was being silly, he didn't care and to go back to sleep.

    awful.

I know I'm not planning a wedding, but after engagement ring shopping a few weeks ago I had a wedding dream (logical, right? Not BSC? As if I could control my dreams anyway, but still).

I dreamt that I was getting ready, and someone had stolen my dress and shoes so I had to wear a toga that my Mom tied really pretty with a big flower on one shoulder, and cowboy boots (which I hate).  And then my friends kept calling to say they couldn't come, which was frustrating, but all I wanted to do was just see my BF (er, I guess in the dream, FI?).

Ugh I've had so many.  They've actually tapered off thankfully.  My weirdest was the band played all sad James Taylor songs and everyone left early.  Also that same dream my reception was in a weird restaurant and the guests had to sit in different sections.

Oh, Acro, I'm sorry you're having bad dreams!

Have you tried doing some yoga or other relaxing type things before bed?

I know reading something fun and light before bed helps get my mind off wedding stuff.

If it really starts interrupting your sleep, you could also talk to your doctor and see if you could take something to help.

I know everything is gonna turn out fine for you. You've put too much thought, time, and planning into everything. And even if somthing goes wrong -- as long as you end up married, it's all good, right?! :)

I played Arkham Horror for 5 hours before bed last night.  If anything, Cthulhu should've shown up at my wedding and eaten everyone.  Tongue out

Thanks everyone, for making me feel more normal.  <3

i'm not even engaged yet and i'm having wedding nightmares.  mine was that my parents spent the $6000 they are contributing towards my wedding on fixing up a boat they just got.  i was so pissed off at them in my dream that I had to remind myself it wasn't real when I woke up. LOL.

t's common to have nightmares about things that you are stressed or worried about. just remind yourself that they are just dreams....

My wedding nightmares have gotten fewer the closer the wedding is. The worst one I had I was selling raffle tickets at the ceremony, then everyone left and I never got married.

Oh god I have had SO many. Last week when I got a call from david's bridal to confirm my final fitting/pick up date there was some slight confusion so that night I had a nightmare that my dress wasn't there and then when they did find a replacement it was the ugliest thing ever. Then it ripped off me as I was walking down the aisle..I woke up crying and shook FI awake. It was awful , so I feel all your pain.

I kinda love hearing about everyone's wedding nightmare stories. FI's are my favorite. So far he's dreamed that I was wearing a yellow hoop skirt, ala Belle of Beauty and the Beast. This weekend he had a dream that I wore a bridal diaper.

I had a few scattered nightmares. Many bad dreams about my dress (remember that?). And on the morning of my wedding, I woke up to severe thunderstorms and pouring rain. I rolled over, went back to sleep, and dreamed beautiful, peaceful dreams about how nice the rain sounded and how green the garden was (which, it was). The only "bad" thing in the dream was that I remembered I would need to buy a bigger umbrella to fit my wedding dress under.

I did actually go to Target on my wedding day, and buy galloshes and a big golf umbrella, just in case the storms didn't stop before the ceremony (they did).

You'll be fine. You're normal. Cool
