Camo Vests???

First thing my FI and I are trying to decide is when to decide who we want in our wedding, how many, and what-not. Our wedding isn't until May 2013 so we just want to know when we should decide and when do we tell our friends? I also don't want to leave anyone out so how could we include our friends that aren't our best friends(if that makes sense) :) ....next thing is my FI and I loooove to hunt and he really wants camo in our wedding as do I but he wants him and his GM to wear camo vest. I want my BM to wear dark purple will this look alright? could we do black tux, mossy oak vest, and purple tie or stick with maybe a black tie... we obviously do not need to make decisions right this minute but I like having ideas of what we are going to do :)

    I know there's been talk on the Offbeat weddings board of girls that are looking at camo in their wedding party, so you could find other girls who are doing that over there...

    It is best to wait to pick your WP to where you are a year or closer to your date. It is tempting to pick now, but there are sooo many horror stories of people who regret their choices. Your relationships are guaranteed to change by 2013. It can't hurt anyone to wait. Pick your nearest and dearest then and don't worry about leaving people out. It is better to have them come as a guest than to give them a crap job like punch bowl girl.

    I applaud your use of camo! We wanted a camo wedding but my mom objected. We settled for camo type colors... dark green and dark brown. I think you very well could do the vests on the guys, and then find a nice shade of purple for your BMs that would compliment a camo sash. If you look around at places like Gander Mnt, or Cabelas, you can sometimes find womens apparel that has both camo and purple. Or take a swatch of your fav camo (Are you a Mossy Oak couple or a Real Tree couple? haha) and go to Home Depot and hold it up to paint swatches. That way you can see what shades go with that.


    BTW where in Iowa are you from? We are going there for our honeymoon :)

    Thanks for the ideas ladies :) I am from Wall Lake, Iowa it is close to Lake View or Carroll very small town!! Where are you going in Iowa for your honeymoon???  We both just love camo so I think we should incorporate it somehow and I want my FI to feel like he has a big part in the planning as well :)

    We are going to Dubuque I think. We may wander around a little bit but we are def going for the whole little town thing!

    Something I just thought of.... would you consider burgundy instead of purple? I have seen camo and burgundy put together on trucks before. People have trucks that color and then get the camo trim/window vents and it actually looks really good. See if you can find that anywhere online as a good example, if you like that color.

    My FI also wanted camo vests for him and the groomsmen which I loved. We also found ones that are reversable (black on the other side) so that we could have the option to flip it for the ceremony if we wanted. Our BM dresses are black with a champagne sash so it goes well I think. I also got him a camo tungsten wedding band , and our garter set is camo (with little deer heads lol) . Depending how big into hunting he is, there are other things that I personally did not want, but maybe you guys would be into ( deer antler toasting flutes and cake cutting set ...oh boy :)

    Does anyone have a good suggestion on where to buy camo vests or rent them?  I have not been finding a great selection of vests.
