Temporary tattoo favors?

We're both very into tattoos, and are having a casual, offbeat wedding where we're trying to work our favorite things into the details of the day.  We originally weren't going to do favors at all because anything we thought up just didn't seem awesome enough to spend the money on, but this idea popped into my head the other day to have custom temporary tattoos made that guests could put on at the reception and/or afterparty (or not, if they don't want to).  I did some looking around online, and it looks like they'd be pretty inexpensive, even with a custom design.

Thoughts?

I don't think it's a good idea because I think a lot of guests aren't going to want to sport your temporary tattoo. You'd end up with A TON of extras

I agree with PP. I don't think most people will want to put them on and you'll have tons left over. You could always have a custom tattoo style design created to print on something though because I really like that idea.

How custom are we talking?  Like your names?  I think you may have a ton of extras if that is the case.  Maybe if they are just cool designs, that would be better.

Also, have you thought about the logistics of temporary tatoos?  You need water to put them on.  Will that be OK in your venue?  How dressed up will your guests be?  If I were in a nice dress I probably wouldn't want to get wet...

I think it is sort of a cool idea, but I could see it being a flop wioth certain crowds.  You know your guests best.

No, I wasn't going to do our names.  Just some cute floral/tribal/etc design or something kind of old-school with a little banner that says something about love.  And it'll be a pretty casual shindig.  Logistics shouldn't be a problem.  I know it would be the kind of thing where my older family members certainly wouldn't want to participate, but my old college buddies and coworkers would think it was cute.

I know it's not a very mainstream kind of idea.

No, It's different but I don't think it's something most people would want to wear.  I have real tattoos but don't wear the stick ons.  It's only something I put on my kids.

If it is casual, I would probably sport one.

Go for it if you like the idea and think your friends would too.

I think it's a cute idea!  I'd put it on at the wedding or after party, then just remove it when I got home - no big deal. I say do it :)

I think it's a cute idea, and if you and your friends would like it, go for it!

However, you said that there would be some older people there that wouldn't be into it.

SO, I wouldn't do them as favors, but maybe just have them out somewhere for interested people to have fun with?

Go for it! Sure, some people might not want one, but that's true for any favor. My group of friends would love it. I would only do it, though, if they were really cheap.

Go for it. You can also buy variety packs of temp tats at walmart. Everything from flowers and fairies to tribal to ed hardy. I think its 50 for $3. I would also buy wet wipes or non- scented baby wipes to make applying them easier.

Oh, wet wipes are a good idea.

Even the custom ones are pretty cheap, as in less than a dollar each, and some sites have them less than fifty cents each.

or what if you had a little bag of candy or something and then attached the tattoo to it? that way you please both guests. I personally think favors are silly as well, but I'm doing them just because people expect them.

I think it is so cute! It is so different! It is perfect because it resembles you both!
