What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests. Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
I just don't understand the "well, what about this" argument, as if finding a single exception changes the entire that no one is entitled to have their cake and eat it too.

ok THANK you because I've been thinking about it for the last hour or two and I haven't seen to the response to my question on the commitment cermony yet...but it's all like...first time posters on accounts made the same day.
And I realize it says I made my account yesterday, but I totally announced that I just changed my name so I ask for exclusion there. lol
I actually just logged in to ask if it's okay if we got married in an expensive venue with a plated meal and only invited our close friends and family (I mean, c'mon we're paying for it ourselves and are not made of money!), and then had another party in our church basement with a cookie reception for the people we are only okay friends with. I know they'd love to see me in my dress! My BIL said he could officiate this second wedding so we're all set. So, what color flowers should we buy for each?
Like. I don't know. I haven't had a wedding yet. So, I can't be sure. But. I'm fairly certain planning just one will be enough for me. It's been a long engagement. I'm ready to move on and do something else for a while.

OK seriously, skip it all for the cookie reception! But, only if the officiant wears a cookie monster costume.
Also, I have a great idea for the cake: <a href="https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/4276_87061319795_7909745_n.jpg" rel="nofollow">https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/4276_87061319795_7909745_n.jpg</a>

Well clearly they are the exception to the rule.
