Just went to a very low-budget wedding...I got so nervous(not at the DT)

 I am getting married at the DoubleTree in July, how was the food? your cocktail hour? Please tell me....

    I just had my wedding there in October!  The food was awesome.  I have actually had several people tell me the steak was teh best "wedding" steak they've had.  I wasn't able to make my own cocktail hour because of photos (we got married the day of the snow storm so our timeline got all screwed up) but from what I heard from my guests it was awesome. We got the mash potato bar and it was a hugh hit. 

    My one problem with them was that Linda would pretend to be my best friend and then forget some important things I told her.  So I would just be sure to remind her or whoever you're working with on things that are important to you.  The staff wasn't the best, but the food and price definitely make up for it!

    You know, I can tell that about Linda, too...I do feel like I have to be up her ass sometimes to get things accomplished.  But, that makes me feel a lot better.  Would love to see pictures...

    Also if you are booking a room, I recommend double checking the reservation list with people you know are booking and have them book online or not through the 800 number.  I had 2 guests whose reservations were lost (but we caught because they were not on my list and we knew they booked) and 1 had some trouble booking extra days outside of our block.  Everything worked out in the end and Maria is lovely and even helped add people above our block of rooms at our price.

    Yea, I blocked ten rooms for my rehearsal night and 15 for the night of...I believe.  Just as long as most of it went well - - lol...I guess at any place you can have some flaws....We are getting married there on July 14.  So much to do, can I ask you about Columbia Floral...prices if you dont mind? Just wondering, went to my first meeting and felt it was so expensive!

    Thank you!  The snow had some benefits!  haha  Not the fall theme I was going for but still pretty :-)

    Columbia Florist charged us about $2000 for everything.  (20 tables and a bridal party of 5 girls and guys) We did very basic centerpieces and I was all about the mums.  I assume if I wanted more expensive flowers they would have raised the price, but I found them almost $1500 cheaper then the other florist I looked at.
