Sunset Colors or Candlelight?

So I dont think our wedding really has a theme but Im trying to find colors and I cant make up my mind so maybe all of you can give me an opinion.

Our wedding is going to be outside (well tented) late evening into the night. Were going to have lots of candles and its going to be more of a dim lit romantic setting. I've even figure out our flowers LOL. Were going to have Calla Lilies and Roses. The only thing I cant think of is colors.

IDK which would be better. Purple and Orange or Purple and Silver. The silver would really sparkle in the candlelight but the purple and orange make me think more of the sunset.

And what accent colors would go well with them.

Any ideas?

I really like purple and orange, with teal as an accent. Here is a picture. Another great combo, and one that I think would be beautiful and really unique, would be plum purple, peach, and gray.

  • I think it just depends on how formal you want things to look.  If you're going for that more romantic feel, I agree that a softer peach (instead of orange) would look really lovely.  Think lilac purple and pale peach, with soft hints of silver.  I think that would look lovely. :)
  • I have my heart set of on a deep purple and Matt loves orange so we are doing purple and orange BUT, I really do not want them mixed together. This is what we are going to do

My bouquet: various shades of purple
girls bouqeuts: mix of white florals with a ribbon around the stems in orange.
Guys: black suite, white shirt, black tie with orange flower probably an orchid.

ceremony flowers: vases of orange flowers hanging from chairs

cocktail hour: white tableclothes with small vases of an orange flower.

reception: white linens with purple flowers or purple lines with white flowers.

i think it'll all tie nicely together and i think the orange, while not a lot, will really add a bit of punch in the colors and also make fiance happy.

This would be very pretty for candle light...

Of the colors you listed I like, purple and orange with accents of  grey (more spring-y) maybe... or grapfruit (more summer-y). Using actual silver and not a grey makes me think of a winter wedding, but that's just me. :)

I think purple and peach with grey/silver accents look great together and would give you the romantic feel you're looking for. It would definitely look amazing by candlelight!

  • Ok so I just downloaded pics of silk, I feel that silk shows colors the best for me. I downloaded and deep purple with more of a red undertone instead of a blue undertone. Then I downloaded a light peach color. Those two will be my main colors. I then downloaded a silver silk and a dark teal/turquoise silk. When written down to me they actually sound a little weird but tomorrow night when Im online again Ill post the pic of them together, they look really pretty.
