Hey, I saw that you are from Sioux Falls. I grew up there! Now I'm stuck in Ohio until FI gets a better job. I know we can't come back to the great SD but hopefully Minneapolis or Des Moines. At least it would be much closer.

    I left forever and a day ago it feels like. We moved in 1994. I went to JFK Elementry and Edison Middle School. We went to Asbury United Methodist Church. I miss everything about it, even now. Even though Ohio is the Midwest, it's not. LOL. My grandparents lived on Lake Okoboji, IA so we visted them a lot and would come to SF to shop. I remember the mall had this cookie store that made special cookies with tons of icing. Some had balloons, hearts, etc but they also made Kermit face and I think a monkey. They were so good. I heard it's gone but not sure. I lived at the library on 49th street and the park across the way. Both were fairly new when I was growing up. I miss Lewis, HyVee, the big sledding hill (by 229?), etc. My grandma was in Sanford Hospital a lot in 2009 and 2010. I was there that fall and it's so much fun to see what has changed and what has stayed the same.

    You need to come visit.

    I live by JFK, go to First Lutheran Church (the mini cathedral downtown), love going to Boji and Arnold's Park, and totally agree that Ohio isn't really the Midwest.  More of the Mid-East.

    My dad was in the Army so we lived here off and on until I moved here fulltime in '99.  The big sledding hill is still in Tuthill Park, the Cookie Co. still exists in the mall making giant iced cookies, the park across from the 49th library (Sertoma park) now has a butterfly house now and tons of stuff to play on.  There have been tons of changes lately!  We're getting a huge event center, building up a fancy riverwalk through the whole downtown area, and tons of new restaurants have popped up.

    Awesome! I've been trying to get FI to consider our next vacation there. I tried to get our honeymoon there but that was a flat no. LOL. I lived by JFK too on Palisade Lane.

    Yes thank you, Ohio is the mid-east. When you get to Indy, you just feel a difference and the further west you go, the better.

    OMG, my cookie place is still there??? Oh, now I'm hungry. I was hoping I had been misinformed. Boji is so awesome. We spent our summers there and some holidays. I was just trying to expain the nutty bars to FI to no avail. Is it sad that I would kill to get a Pizza Ranch out here? Ah, memories...
