Favors on a budget

Since we're on a budget for our wedding, I was thinking of doing a candy bar as the favors that will be displayed during the cake cutting. Most of the venues I have looked into only provide cake for dessert, thus the candy bar act as a favor and an additional dessert. My only concern is that it'll A.) cost too much (around 130 guests) or B.) not add enough to the dessert hour causing me to buy additional desserts.. Opinions are greatly appreciated!

I think you will find that the candy bar will end being more than you want to spend.  You will have to buy the candy, jars, scoops, etc.

Why would you need to offer a dessert besides the cake?

I was thinking about doing a candy bar as well, I thought I wouldn't be too expensive. When I finally started researching it more in depth I realize how costly it actually is and I've gone a different route with the favors It's definitely not for a "budget" wedding, BUT everyones "budget" wedding is different. Also, most weddings the cake is the only dessert. No need to worry about offering more.

I did a candy bar and they are still pretty popular in my area.  And yeah, it was a lot more than I thought it would be.  But if you don't worry about getting candy in your wedding colors and instead just do wrapped candy that you can buy locally (and possibly on sale), it is much cheaper.  Wedding cake and a candy bar is plenty--you don't need more.
