Makeup Advice

So I'm in need of someone to do my makeup the day of my wedding.  First off, I don't wear any make up at all on a daily basis!  I don't even own any.  This means I don't plan on wearing a ton the day of the wedding.  I have agreed to wear some though, people say that the pictures would turn out a lot better if I had just a little on.  I'm trying to keep it budget friendly but it seems like most places start between $50-$75.  I just can't see paying that for the tiny bit that I would probably wear.  None of my friends or bridal party are comfortable doing it and feel they wouldn't be able to do it to my liking.  Does anyone have any suggestions for a low cost way of getting my makeup done but it still looking nice?  Thanks!

I have heard so many brides say they don't wear makeup, but you have to remember that you will be taking pictures that day. If you’re investing a nice amount on your pictures I don’t recommend going cheap with the makeup. For that price you can always look for a makeup artist who just started or hit the makeup counter.

What about going to the local MAC counter to see if they would do your makeup?  It's been quite a while, but when I was in HS I did that for prom one year.

I don't ever wear makeup either, but I actually ended up paying around $75 to have mine done.  That included a trial, so I knew that the girl wouldn't overdo it on the day of the wedding.  She ended up doing an awesome job, and was one of my favorite vendors.  The makeup looked very natural, but played up my eyes and lips a bit for photos.

For me it was an easy decision to pay a little more to make sure I didn't end up looking like a clown on my wedding day. :-)

I used to be a Mary Kay consultant...the way that I would do weddings...is ask the bride to have a party.... and invite the wedding party along with some other friends.  Everyone gets to try on makeup, and then you can choose your colors for your wedding day.  Because I would make a profit on doing the show, I wouldn't charge to do makeup the day of the Bride's wedding.  You should try to find a mary kay consultant in your area!

She may be a bit more than your budget, but Liz Wegrzyn was a wonderful makeup artist. I wanted a more made up look and she delivered. My mother, mother-in-law and some of the bridesmaids rarely if ever wear makeup and she had a very light touch with them. They looked wonderful and natural in person and in photos and were all very happy with how they looked.
