Please pray for me. I am going to visit my grandma this weekend and she has dementia. I don't deal with illnes and death well so this is going to be really hard.

I have a prayer request. This morning I was walking on the treadmill and I pulled a muscle in my back. It doesn't hurt much to sit upright but if I stand up, it hurts a lot. I can't lift anything or bend down without a lot of pain. I'm very concerned about sleeping tonight because after laying in my bed for 45 minutes this afternoon, I couldn't get out of bed. When I finally did, I passed out for a minute and it took a while for me to return to myself. While I was crouched down, I started getting all sweaty and was in excruciating pain. I called an 800 number we have through work, talked to a nurse and she basically said it sounded like a muscle sprain or strain. I need to rest, take Advil and use heat/cold compresses during the day. Hopefully I'll be feeling better in 2-3 days. But I can't afford to miss work so please pray that I'll feel well enough to go to work tomorrow. TIA!

Prayer: My brothers deployment on Wednesday. FI and I are heading down to NC tomorrow to hang out with the family. Looking forward to the family time but it is bittersweet

Please be praying for my sister. She's okay but there's something not right. I'm not allowed to say what it is but it's really hard on her and she's in a lot of pain. We know this will pass but it's still hard watching her

Prayer request: please pray that I do well in these summer classes. I'm already totally overwhelmed and very nervous about getting my work done. Also, please say a few extra prayers for FI who is still looking for another job.

Prayer - Just posted this on FB, but for anyone who doesn't do the FB thing ...

Just sent off a job app to somewhere in SC. REALLY want this job. Looking for more opps in SC and NC too. I'm only finishing year 4, maybe this is the time to look to move to another state, and SC could be a great new home next year. Praying people, what I need is peace, clarity in the decision process, and to find the open door God has for me. Thanks!! :-

Praise - God is working in my students lives in a powerful way. Just a few of them. It's nice to see that he's opening their eyes to the fact that I'm a Christian and it's starting to tame down their behavior. Well, that and all of the discipline referrals... Oh well. At least they're learning how to be better citizens in my classroom, even if they don't learn as much about music as I would hope they could.

Praise - EOG week has been ultimately stress-free. EOG = end of grade tests. It's usually stressful for the students, but we've been relaxed as teachers about them. I hate seeing the students bubble in SO many wrong answers, and I know we'll have a bunch re-testing next week, but it is what it is, and some of the students ARE succeeding. Counting the blessings!!!

Praise -- only 16 more school days until the "prisoners" go home for the summer!!! WOO-HOOO!! And after that I have a few teacher workdays, but they shouldn't be too bad. The adults are generally well-behaved. ;-p

My 19 year old sister needs prayer! She's been in rebellion since last fall and told our parents this evening that she is moving in with "someone" for the summer. Wouldn't tell them who, or where. She left their meeting, unwilling to tell any of us siblings about her decision.

We used to be best friends and now I don't know how to react. I am heartbroken that she would do this in this way. I need God's grace to love her even though she has hurt us in so many ways over the past several months. The younger kids (16, 13 and 9) are going to be devastated.

In addition to all this, my dad's parents who live several states away are in their final months. This has been extremely stressful on him, trying to keep our family together while wanting to be with them before he can't.

Praise: I just ended a video conference with my entire family, including my brother who deployed yesterday! It was so great to hear his voice again and to know it all is going well so far.

Skype is going to be a great thing through this deployment
