Hair up or down?

I still want an Old Hollywood hairstyle, but I wonder if having my hair down with my dress will lessen the impact of the dress. Here's a pic with hair clearly not done but down, for comparison...

I am a hair down kind of person.  I think your hair should reflect you for your day, like if you always wear your hair down wear it down or half down and if you always wear your hair in a ponytail then get it done up pretty.
With that being said and knowing that I am a hair down kind of gal, I think your hair would look really pretty and compliment the dress if you have it hot rolled it in large curls and pin some of it back at the same point of where the flower is (aren't you having a flower clip on your veil?)  The weather will still be good for your wedding so you won't have to worry about too much humidity, or not so much that plenty of hairspray can't take care of!  haha

What shoes did you end up going with?

I keep my hair up in a bun most of the time so it's out of my face, so I don't know whether up or down is more 'me' - ya know?

OH! The shoes! I found the CUTEST shoe clips on Etsy and the girl made them in turquoise! Lookit!

I think it's whatever YOU want, but personally i think a lot of brides look more elegant with their hair up. :)

I don't know about the hair, but those shoe clips are cute!

    Ooo I LOVE the shoes!!!!

Well I think you could do you hair up or down, but if you do it down make sure it is off your face so you don't get annoyed!

You could do a deep side part and hot roll your hair and take the side that has more hair and loosely pin it up like in a swoop kind of but swoop is not a good word to describe it.  Like an updated Marilyn Monroe look.

I completely agree with sunflower: it is whatever YOU want!!!! You have to be comfortable with however your hair is, it will be in pictures forever!

MLH that's kinda the hairstyle I was thinking. :) I'm supposed to get a haircut in a couple of weeks - maybe I'll turn it into another hairdo playdate!

Ya you can also ask your hair stylist if it would work and if she has any ideas.  Hair dressers are really good about coming up with ideas or putting a different spin on things.  I would go in with pictures so she knows a general idea of what you mean.

Like everyone said, I think it depends on what you want. I always keep my hair back too because I hate it in my face. I am thinking it will either be all the way up or part because of that. I voted up because I think it would look nice and not take away from the dress, but your hair isn't that long that it would cover anything up. I don't think you could go wrong, you are going to look fab either way!!

Also, think about what you will be comfortable with. You have to have it that way all day and in all of your pictures. If you think it would be annoying back or down, then it will show in your face how you feel, which will come out in your pictures.

I voted up!  The first pic with your hair up looks awesome with the dress!    Since you've already had a trial with your hair down, you should do one with your hair up.  Hmm...this is making me re-think my hair for the wedding day!  lol

Thanks for the input, everyone. I'm definitely leaning more toward having it up, too.

Well, unless I got it cut to chin length... what do you think? I've never had my hair that short before. :)

If you usually wear your hair up then you more than likely are going to want to pull it back 1/2 way through the night I bet.  I voted of up because I think it would look better because of the neckline on your dress.

Don't cut your hair that short before the wedding. There is no going back on that one. If you get a tight curl that should bring up the length. I vote for having your hair up. As soon as I get warm, my hair goes up and since you already where your hair up most of the time, I think you will be more comfortable. Some ideas for ya...

I think a classic updo will only help to enhance the Old Hollywood look that you're going for. :)

I voted for you to wear youe hair up as well.  I thought that would be a classic look with your beautiful dress.  But just like everyone else said you have to be comfortable with your style :)

I'm voting up b/c I LOVE your gown and I agree that the up do (maybe with loose waves or curls falling) would look very 50's.  I'm doing a vintage look as well, but probably sticking with down, or atleast half up half down.  There's always the option for both!  Just read this in a magazine.  You could have it loosely secured in the back or side, and then just remove the clip for a down look for the reception.  Or vice versa...your stylist would have ideas!

I like those pics Erica put up too!  I dont think you should cut your hair before the wedding.  Whenever I get my hair cut I always hate it for a little bit until it settles and I could just envision a freak out moment if I got my hair cut a different style than usual close to the wedding.

I think you should wear your hair up of you always wear your hair up. You MIGHT end up putting it up half way through the wedding if you are use to it out of your face. However have a trial with your hair up...cant hurt...better to do it then wonder what if ,.... :)
