Theme for my wedding

in May 2013 Weddings
The colors of my wedding are Purple and white with maybe a touch of Silver and I was thinking about doing a butterfly theme with a splash of a Cinderella theme...What do you think? and if I do it that way with using both themes what should I have for a cinderella theme I dont want it to seem childish, if that makes any scense.

    I don't think it will be childish if you the butterfly and Cinderella theme as long as it's done in moderation... Do you have pictures that you can show us so we get a visual idea?

    I think it would be very nice and can be done elegantly if done in moderation. When I hear about a cinderella wedding I think sparkles and glitz.

    I'm sorry but I think I will have the unpopular opinion... I don't think a Cinderella theme works for a wedding. It just seems childish to me.. I'm not saying you shouldnt do it but that's just my opinion. Does the theme mean something to you and your FI?

    I have the same colors and am planning on a subtle cinderella/fairytale theme.  (Since we got engaged at Disney World.)  I think, if done right, it can be beautiful and elegant without being childish.  I think the key is to not be too literal with it.

    I too think that Cinderella may come off as too childish and it is REALLY hard to make it more of an adult theme. Although VJones has more of the right idea with it. You'll have to be really mindful of your choices.

    I have always been a huge fan of Disney and thought was thinking about a way to tie in everything together but im just not sure how...My dress has a lot of sparkley beading done it and I will have glitter on me, and then the only other idea I thought of so far was my cake topper, there is a pic below and then possibly during the cocktail hour maybe do a select few disney songs like The cirlcle of life from the Lion King, A tale of old as time from Beauty and the beast, You'll be in my heart by Tarzan, A whole new world by Aladian etc...but idk I think I may not do it..I thought it may be a good idea but idk what else I would do...maybe ill just stick with Butterflies lol
