All inclusive Help

To make a long story short we did not know we would be going on a honeymoon until this week and our wedding is in July.

So now we are looking at honeymoons a little late in the game. We would like to go to an all-inclusive resort so that we have a solid handle on the budget. Neither of us are really into staying on the beach everyday. Any recommendations of all-inclusive resorts that are in places with lots of things to see and do... ruins, rainforests, volcano, etc.

The resort that looked interesting to me on St. Lucia is fully booked so other options would be appreciated. I've looked into Costa Rica but it was a bit overwhelming because we are in a bit of a time crunch and I have no idea which resorts are good.

The budget is flexible but we were hoping to stay under $5,000 including airfare, from the Boston area. Thanks in advance!

Re: All inclusive Help

  • I don't know which resort you looked at in St. Lucia, but there are many all inclusive options.  There are three Sandals resorts for example, and there are many excursions that you can do.  Here is a link to the top ten all inclusives in St. Lucia.

I don't know which of these will be in your budget.

    Good Luck!
  • We are going to the Royal Playa Del Carmen and have heard wonderful things about it. I just did a quick search and for 7-8 nights you can go for under 5k...

I booked through Elise with Beach Bum Vacation and she is awesome... give her your dates and your budget and she will pull some amazing resorts for you :)
  • I would suggest the Riviera Maya, there are tons of All inclusives.  Personally the Secrets look the nicest.
If you find something on line, my TA will price match all rates...

  • We are also going to the Royal Playa del Carmen! We booked with a local travel agent and including airfare its going to cost us about $3600 ... I wanted to go to the Riviera Maya for the ruins as well, so that might be a great location for you to look into.
  • I am working with a travel agent. I was so surprised that there was no charge to me for their service (apparently they just charge the hotels for their commissions) I was looking into Costa Rica. It's a new up and coming area for all-inclusives and you sound like me where I am more about adventure than laying back and relaxing. The cost is SUPER low for both the flights and the all-inclusive resorts. The tourist industry down there is really pushing business so the prices are really competitive. Check them out. And I recommend Travel Leaders if you are looking for a travel agent - they have been awesome!!!!

  • Costa Rica sounds perfect for you and if you're going there you'll wanna tour around and stay in at least 2 resorts (one in the rainforest, one by the beach). Take a look at the Arenal region for activities like white water rafting and canopy tours. The Springs Resort is here and has amazing hot thermal springs. Or for head to Guanacaste for surfing and water activities.
I'm hoping to go later in the year so I'm researching it all now!!

  • I would recommend Mexico. One resort I think you will really enjoy is Dreams Huatulco. Dreams Huatulco is an awesome all-inclusive resort that I think would be the perfect place for your honeymoon. You can enjoy amenities ranging from 24-hour room service to unlimited food & drink. The resort also offers great activities such as kayaking, windsurfing and snorkeling. You definitely won’t be bored if you stay here. Also of interest to you may the Copalita Waterfalls, La Bocana Lagoon and Rio Copalita, which are located just a short distance from Dreams. Good luck with your decision and congrats!
  • Thank you for all of your help! We are seriously looking into some of your recommendations!
