April 2013 Weddings

Maui ladies :)

Hey!  I will be in Maui April 21-28.  I have never been there.  What are you all doing in Maui?  What is fun to do there?

We will be at a timeshare condo complex, but we are renting a car so we can anywhere!

Do you have anything scheduled to do while you are there?

Thanks :)

Re: Maui ladies :)

  • I'm so excited for hawaii - I seriously cannot wait!

We scheduled a whale watching tour through the pacific whale foundation and made reservations for the Old Lahaina luau.  Also I think we are going to get massages at the westin's spa.

We haven't booked official tours of the crater or anything, but that is something we were thinking about as well. We are planning all of our adventure stuff on the big island, (volcano hiking and ziplining) so we are going to be spending our time in Maui relaxing for the most part.

  • adawn-where are you staying?

I've been going to Maui since I was born so I know my way around the island pretty well.  My favorite parts are Kihei and Lahaina.  We have a timeshare in Kihei that's right across from the beach, which is awesome.

Definitely plan to take a sailboat out of Lahaina for some snorkeling/whale watching.
Take the road out to Hana, pack a lunch for that.
    Go visit Haleakala.
Go to a luau just because you've never done it before.
Plan a night out in Lahaina: watch the sunset over the harbor and then grab dinner.
Visit Lappert's Ice Cream A LOT.
Learn about the red dirt shirts.
    Go see Wailua falls.

    Those are the highlights, enjoy!!

I went to Maui a few years back on a family vacation and it was gorgeous. We stayed in Kihei and made a few day trips to places like Wailea and Lahaina, which is a really pretty little town, and drove to the top of the volcano to take in the view (which is amazing!). I don't remember a lot of the specifics because I wasn't really involved in planning the trip and it was like 7 years ago, so I'm afraid I can't give you any other real recommendations.

Hi!  It's called Maui Beach Vacation Club.  I am pretty sure it is in Kihei.  Have you seen it?

  • We are going to Maui April 30-May 10, just after you adawn!  I've been gobbling up everything on the internet about Maui - there are some great resources out there and Ich listed some of the stuff we want to do.  The big one for us is the Road to Hana, going to a luau, and snorkeling.  We are renting a car and rented an inlaw apt through airbnb, so we have the kichenette and washer/dryer.  We're not really resort people, so this will be more our style.  :)
