Reception Decorator

Hello,
I posted this under the reception board but wanted to get some local opinions:

I am really looking into the option of hiring someone to do my reception hall decorating, to relieve the stress for myself, my family, and my wedding party.  I love the idea of being able to have someone set it all up and take it all down. I am meeting with a couple gals tomorrow and My questions are I have no idea what to look for exactly.  I want to get the biggest bang for my buck because of my budget. So does anyone have any tips.  Has anyone hired someone to do their decorating? What all are they doing? centerpieces? set-up/take down? lighting?  About what price range should I be considering? What questions should I ask? I have a budget in mind but not sure if it's feasable.  I'm a little lost here because all my friends have DIY'd their own reception halls and I just don't want to haha ;-)  so any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,
L

My venue pretty much takes care of it from what I understand, depending on what I decide to do. I'd definitely look into your venue and see what kinds of things they offer. Some places will set up but not take down, some won't do anything and some will do it all. You could see what they would charge to set up anything difficult such as draping and lights, and set up centerpieces yourself (it's pretty easy to have someone just set them on all the tables if they aren't too elaborate). Other than that I haven't really looked into it because I'm trying to save as much money as possible. If I find my info from the bridal expo I'll post it!

I work for a florist and we do set-ups and take downs. Its an added fee and it depends on how elaborate the decor is and how far from the shop it is.

Thanks ladies.  I am going with the girls from Unique Ave Designs.  They are awesome girls and a friend of a friend.  They are able to work completly within my budget and they think we can do what I'm looking for.  I now do not have to worry about decorating my reception, setting it up, or taking it down.  I think, based on what we've talked about, I'm going to LOVE it and them!  We shall see in a year ;-)
