Rehersal Dinner Day question

We are currently debating whether to have our rehersal dinner on friday or thursday. Our wedding is on Saturday, so either would work.  Looking for others opinions. We only have 2 people in our wedding party coming from out of town and they are ok with either day. TIA

    Either one would be fine, provided it's on the same day as the rehearsal.

    We had our rehreasal Thursday at noon. Our ceremony was on Saturday, but there were wedding both Thursday and Friday evening at our venue. It actually worked out really well. We were done with the rehearsal at about 1 and then had a rehearsal lunch. It was nice to have Friday free to pick up my dress, get our nails done, and finish a few last minute details. My dad and MIL each had parties at their respective houses for their families on Friday night, so we were able to go to those as well. If it's ok with the out of town members of the wedding party, I say go for Thursday. A bonus is that you might get better prices for the rehearsal dinner.

    We had our RD on Thursday night as there was a wedding at the venue Friday night and ours was Saturday. Friday night we had a BBQ with family in town.  I didn't have much to do on Friday and Friday was just sorta a wait around day for me.  I am torn thinking back about Thurs vs Friday.  Thurs allowed us to hang with our WP and then family on Friday night, but then it streched it out so much and it was a long weekend (thurs - sun).

    We had our rehearsal dinner two nights before the wedding and I'm SO glad we did!  We had a blast partying with our awesome wedding party into the wee small hours of the morning - something we would not have done if we were getting married the next day!

    It also opened up the night before the wedding to hang out with our non-wedding party guests, too.  We reserved a bunch of tables at the Shout House and invited everyone to join us there.  It was low-key (and we left around 10 pm) but still a lot of fun.

    My only thought is to consider if there might be anyone besides those in the WP that you might end up wanting to attend like parents, grandparents, or other OOTs.  Will they all be around on Thursday, too?

    Finished BC and not preventing since June 2010.
    Actively trying for baby #1 since July 2011.
    SA completed 5/29/2012. No sperm found.
    11/12: Dx: Congenital Bilateral Absense of the Vas Deferens.
    Genetic Testing needed as this is a mutation of Cystic Fibrosis.
    IVF #1 with ICSI planned for 2013.
    PAIF/SAIF welcome!

    that's awesome.  i would love to have the entire day before the wedding to just relax...  our friends are doing a thurs RD so they can, basically, get hammered at their RD. ;)

    we don't have the luxury of time... FI's family is driving 500 miles to Mpls the day before our wedding & couldn't be convinced otherwise... cut on hotel expense I guess.  So we're having a "run-thru", not full rehearsal... and then a dinner w/everyone together.
