I had a meeting with our wedding planner last night (3 hours long!!) Talked a lot about general wedding stuff and decorations, but a LOT about DIY stuff and the items we need to start working on.
We decided we are doing mugs with chalk paint on them for our escort cards, drinks and take home favors. They will look like this...and we will add the chalk paint ourselves, and write the name and table number when the time gets closer.

We have been struggling with the ceremony location (a pond on my parents property) because want to make it feel natural, but also wanted something to center the ceremony. So we decided we are going to do circle bunting up and down the aisle, then in front make a really simple "arch" that has the bunting strung inbetween two tree branches/sticks/something??

I can't find any good inspiration pics! ha. So it will look like this behind where we are standing, but much bigger and not on a cake (obviously!) and we will be using circles as that is kind of coming about as our theme. Colors of the fabric will be green, yellow and navy.
We also decided we will do a picture timeline down our path that leads to the ceremony...about 1/2 mile. We will blow up pictures of us from when we were babies and continue on until our engagement pictures, then it will say something like "happily ever after starts here" (orr any other good ideas???). These will all be glued onto styrofoam board for sturdiness and then stuck on a piece of wood and placed in the ground.
So those are some DIY projects coming up. Next on my list will be:
-Registering
-Deciding on music for ceremony
-Contacting potential DJ and videographer (both friends or ours)
-Creating a guest book
-Making hula hoop chandeleirs and circle backdrop for the sweetheart table...looks like this...
