Growing centerpeices

Hi,
I think I'd posted before that I wasn't planning on having flowers really, just pretty lanterns for centerpieces (link to my pinterest with a picture of them http://pinterest.com/pin/38913984250170290/)  My FMIL has brought up a few times the idea of her growing flowers as centerpieces/take away gifts for guest.    I kindof rather not have them, but I think she'd really like to do them, so whatever :)

Does anyone have recommendations on types of flowers I should suggest to her?  The colors I want to stick with are blue and yellow, so I'm thinking yellow flowers, maybe some that would also work well for a bouquet.  Anyone know good, easy to grow indoor in pots flowers that could work well with the lanterns?  Daffodils I know are easy, but I"m not sure if i want those for a bouquet.

I guess another option would be for her to do lots of tiny ones for escort cards? Although we are probably having 150 people ish, so that would be ALOT.

  • What sort of theme or feel are you having for your wedding? That can make a big difference :)

Well not so much a theme...color wise yellow and navy.  Pretty relaxed wedding though...the location kindof doubles as a summer camp, so we might end up having the ceremony be more during the day so activities like bocce and volleyball/kickball, ect might happen.  Not quite sure yet.

  • Tulips and daisys are pretty in yellow. I think you could do something nice with either one and still keep everything relaxed.
