I'm cheap by nature so I'm trying really hard to get used to how much everything is going to cost since my Fiancé and I are going to be paying for a lot of it ourselves. I'm currently pricing out photographers and wanted to know what is the average price for a decent photographer? I don't want to skimp on this, but I also don't want to get taken to the cleaners.

    I'm using David LaChapelle who is the owner of Amore Photography.  He is doing the engagement session, photo album, and prints plus 8 hrs of photography with him (Who has 20+ years of experience) and his assistant who has been with him for a number of years.  I think it was $3,000 a bit over our budget but I loved the work I saw of his and met his assistant as well.  Also, we are working with a videographer in the area and because we are using both we got something upgraded or something to that effect.  I saw a lot of people a lot more expensive and also much cheaper.  I think mine might be on the expensive side but there was a lot of choices.  Do you have any budget amount?

    We are spending about $3500 on our photographer.  We have 2 photograhers for 9 hours.  We absolutely loved her photos.

    My friend used Shawn Black a few months back and he was great.  She got amazing photos and she says he really made her special.  If I remember, he was less then what we are paying, but we already booked and put a deposit down.   Anyway, his site is www.shawnblackphoto.com

    we used john loconte from www.johnlophoto.com and paid 2700 with albums but i believe he has packages starting around 1500 that still have 8 hours and all rights to your images ... a big plus for us! hth he is fantastic!

    Her prices start at around $1000 and include all photos on a CD, which is pretty rare from what I've seen shopping around.

    This may help you...we are getting our E-pics done this thursday.  
    When we first started looking for photographers the one thing we wanted was amazing editing, so that the pics had a unique look to them when all is said and done.  
    Below is a link to my future cousin in law and wonderful friend.  She has a great eye for editing and decided to take photography on as a side job, she is a teacher. We are getting our E-pics done next Thursday, so i will post once they are done.

    Our photographer has great prices (around $1000 depending on what you're looking for) and amazing work!  She's new to the area, so her prices are lower than most.  Check her out before her prices go up!

    He is an excellent photographer has done 6 family wedding since he did a wedding for a family member 2 years ago that's how great he is..  prices are great and he stays until the very end of the wedding...I mean the whole thing no extra cost.  The price also includes engagement photos.  He works with every step of the way..I love him and think he's great.
